Last year was my first time ever going in a scrapyard. I didn’t know anything about scraping. The owner, his employees and his family all helped me understand what I was doing every time I came. I have been doing business with American since day one. Im always appreciate of their respect and commitment to customers. They definitely will continue to get all my business. And they pay better than any person or company when it comes to buying scrap.

A few months ago I call and got a price for scrap . When I got there the price was $2.00 less . I thought maybe the price dropped and it was an honest move by the company . Today I call and get a price and 3 hours later when I get the the price is $3.00 less than I was told . So it seems that they tell you they are paying the best price in town until you get unloaded then find out they are the lowest paying place in town. By the time you find out its too late . So it just cost me $126 to find out that this is the scam theyre running to get you in the gate . I would rather go elsewhere for less money than be conned by these people. It wont happen again.

Britney, you are so correct. This company does not care about the employees. I experienced this personally and wish that all the employees that they have mistreated would come forward. Its called title 7 a hostile work environment and is against the law. The owners scream and belittle the workers. I am lucky because I have text messages that prove how they act towards us. Now they better get on POINT.....

Idk what the old employees are talking about, I love this business and what they stand for, and that’s customer service. Any previous employee who posts a bad review after being let go is more of a problem than seen im sure cuz all the other reviews stand for them selves. This company helps you anyway they can!!! Best scrap price in town!!!!!

Recently had 40 lbs of drop cord. Was paid almost $60 which was expected. A few days later i had a few more drop cord and they paid a flat rate of $2 per drop cord.. Everywhere I research has drop cord listed as insulated copper #2. I know prices fluctuate daily but that just felt like highway robbery. Overall the staff is friendly and Ill continue to do business but doubtful Ill be bringing anymore drop cords to this location.

Man appraoched me saying he was the owner. Personally I dont care who you are but you treat people with repsect!!! He was very rude and unprofessional!!! This will be my last time comig here. They have the lowest prices go to CMC!!

This was a great scrap yard, but when I checked their schedule for today it said they were open now till 3:00. I ride all the way out their to their closed gate! I was really frustrated with them today, i dont know if Ill be back again.

We run our non profit almost completely off of scrap metal donations. American scrap has been an awesome organization to work with and we appreciate their working hard and insuring an honest business to work with. I would like to recommend them working on flow in and out of their property, as they become more and more popular. It could only get more congested.

I usually dont write reviews but I had a great experience and thought I should write one. I had a bunch of metal scrap, I had to sell them and this Yard gave me the best price compared to other yards I went to. Customer service was great as well, and the employees explain the whole process. I will definitely be coming back! As per my experience this is the Best Recycle Metal Yard in Columbia SC.

Been going there for quite awhile great service and people. However last visit all I got was a run around. Asked for manager and was told no one was around to help me and they were under new management.they said to call back which I did and said they couldnt do that now. In the past I had no problems. Not happy about this last visit. Hope things get better.

Entrance is bottle necked and can back up into the street sometimes. However, the staff is very helpful and does manage traffic within the lot. Prices and scales seem fair.

The highly positive reviews speak for themselves. Today was my first time here since the scrap yard I used to go to closed down. I didnt know where to go in the yard but everyone was helpful getting me where I needed to be even though it was very busy and I appreciate that. I only scrap once every year or so. I also got paid well above what I expected, which makes me glad the other place closed down and I got the opportunity to come here.

I am raising money for my church by scraping metal (aluminum, copper and steel) donated by church members for water systems on the Navajo Indian reservation in New Mexico. The people at the recycler are very nice. The men always help unload the heavy items. The price is competitive to other recyclers. The location is easy to get to since it is on the outskirts of Cayce and close to the interstate. I highly recommend American Scrap Iron and Metal.

The guy that answered the phone was moody and seemed like he didnt want to be on the phone at all. I was supposed to be called by a tow driver. Never happened. Called back. Kept getting voicemail. Left a message. Was never called back and that was a week ago.I called pull-a-part after that. They were offering the same thing and actually showed up to take my vehicle. I dont know how they have three stars and this place has five.

Once upon a time great yard but customer service is worst

The mosy rude and unprofessional management I have ever seen. The owner is unreasonable and does not care about the employees what so ever apparently. As long as she makes her money for the company that is all that matters to them. I wpuld rate this company zero stars if possible and recommend noone go here there is definetly other scrap yards in the area that you can go to with GOOD management.
