Stock and customer service is not 100% at all. I went to J. C. Pennys in Merrillville, Indiana 2 days later to find an overwhelming amount of selectable items, sizes, sales associates, along with good pricing. It saddens me to travel so many miles outside of Lansing IL for satisfaction.

I have not been to the mall since the pandemic started last year. It was good to get out Saturday with my Sister ☺️. Her idea not mine. They werent too crowded but the checkout line was a long wait. I only bought one item a pair of clearance jeans $12. Shopping doesnt quite feel the same 😐.

Loved that the clearance racks were in order by size! So much easier for me to shop... theyre smart... I spent more time buying.

They sell out of their sale items too fast I dont know if they dont stock enough or if people are really buying it that quickly like that. I hate that theyre name brand sale items are never matchable for example you can get an Adidas jacket but you wont find a pants or you can get, Nike jogging pants and no matching jacket but I do like JCPenney overall. Theyre doing a lot better with their merchandising and quality pic of clothing

This is my second time trying to support this River oaks location but they have the worst customer service ever. I stood at the jewelry counter for 10 minutes while the workers didn’t even acknowledge me standing there. Then when a manager recognizes me standing there they still stood there and kept setting up. I called for a manger above the other one. Only because as I walked away they sound loudly we’ll go give your business to Macy she don’t have no money. Ghetto workers I have a account with the store Beverly and Jackie is the name of the workers. I’m going to close my account and I agree this is the location that should close. I will never shop with them again I’m closing my account.

Still a decent store I just wish theyd do something with the rest of them mall it needs help the parking lot needs help too

Tucked away on the first floor is Sephora, the makeup store. The employee was wearing the perfect fresh face makeup. You couldnt really tell she had makeup on, she looked naturally beautiful and she was very informative about all of the products and my makeup needs.

Really small but I like that about it. They put their best stuff out first so you don’t have to go digging through everything like Orland

I shopped in fine jewelry department. The sales lady was helpful and kind. I was given time to make my decisions with patience. I would definitely recommend shopping here.

I generally like going to JCPenney, but this time I was going for blinds. They have a good variety, although a small section dedicated to that. The lady helping us was courteous and patient. However, the blinds tend to be so expensive... So we had to resort to getting curtains.. I wish they had a more attractive range of furnishings so that you can just shop from one place. Enjoy Penney!

Store in bad shape.. Never seen a store with such poor dim lighting in the jewelry dept. As if they didnt want you to see items. It was pretty depressing to see the lack of care of this location.

Went to get salon service for eyes...glad to know mall was open..JCPenney was not crowded and store was well organized lines short..pleasant shopping experience due to empty mall and holiday

Stopped in River oaks Mall by Pennys to go to Pappys Alterations to have sleeves shortened on 2 leather jackets and was measured, pinned and out in just a short time. 1 1/2 days later jackets ready...and they were perfect...price reasonable for work done....give them a try....you will be glad you did

I really like this store and shop here all the time, the staff is friendly and helpful. Lately the cashiers have been limited so the wait to purchase is longer than it should be

Love JCPenneys here seems to be hanging in there during the pandemic.

You should avoid this Penney. Practically empty but what I mean is that they dont have a variety of stuff. So I suggest you go out to Orland or any other place.

My experience at River Oaks JC Penney was shocking, while I was shopping a store employee approached me and spoke and then asked if I had found everything. My response was no...I was looking for a ladies belt, she then took me to the area of accessories where the belts were. That right there is what I call great customer service! Thanks again to the store employee that assisted me!

Well the mall isnt in the best shape that it used to be a lot of workers are no longer there and it takes a bit longer to get served.

I needed new eyeglasses and visited the Optical Dept in JCP River Oaks. The Sales Representative was exceptionally knowledgeable plus talking with her (Vernitta Dood) was like talking to my younger sister. I told what I was attempting to achieve with the look of my glasses and she was HONEST in her opinion. Glad I qualified for Special Financing saving more cash!!! Keep it real JCP!!

This store was clean and well-organized. Womens clothing section well-stocked. They also have a very nice selection of jewelry at pretty reasonable prices. I like going to this store because theres always something on sale that I need. The shoe section was not that great. They have decreased the amount of shoes they sell. I suppose its because a lot of people are shopping online now.

Unbelievably disorganized, dishonest and incompetent! My experience at this stores typifies why brick and mortar retail will be extinct soon!I went to this store to purchase gift cards for my granddaughters. I had to correct the clerk three times on the amount I wanted on the gift cards. Because of the amount I put on each of the cards, it clearly stated on numerous advertisements in thestore I would receive twenty five dollar coupons for each gift card. At first they could not find any of the coupons. Then they stated that in the small print on their advertisements this offer was not effective until Friday, November 23rd. Ultimately they gave me twenty dollar coupons. I will not be back!

Just got a credit card again with J C Pennys, exchanged unwearable gym shoes, no problem. Great service, no house shoes for men though, need 2 stock up.

JCP sent an email saying my order was ready for pickup but only a portion was ready, so Ill have to go back another day to get the rest of my order. Bummer 👎
