Its a great store and just what youd expect from a no frills grocery store. I would add that it has a leg up on Aldi as they have an in-store bakery, so plenty of fresh baked goods to choose from. Just remember that the majority of items are their in house brand and not brand name, although they do have some brand name options. Its new so plenty of shiny floors and counters. Staff is kind and courteous.

My wife had very bad experience today 9/13/2021 at Lidl Burke, VA. About 10 minutes before 9PM (store closing at 9PM) she waked to the store and passed the first door and faced the locked inside door. She knocked about 5 minutes at door and nobody showed up to open the inside door or outside door to let her out. This was very critical and safety situation. Her hand got some bruises due to knocking at the door. She could see some customers inside and a couple of employees around but nobody paid attention to her. She was very scared and hopefully there would be no consequences related to this situation. Finally, a man showed up and told her that store is closed even though at that moment time was 3 minutes to 9PM. He said that he was manager and offered no apology and actually he was very rude. Main question is if store is closing (before 9PM) why the front door was not locked and inside door was locked. We have not ever seen this kind of customer service in our whole life. We are going to pursue this situation with higher authority.

I really like this place, its clean, simple, inexpensive and decent quality.Having it close makes it that much better, but I do find myself doing a decent amount of shopping there.

Got stuck nearby, so checking the options, another Lidl, while near finishing lemon 🍋 ade from the last one. Look around see what they have, take photos to remember, use bathroom and try leaving. All registers not in use roped off so have to go thru a line cutting thru while register guy doesnt seem to believe Id bought at the last one. Im wearing backpack 🎒 that some still sell and bunny 🐇🐰 ears difficult to find checking whats still around. Had some interesting but budget/ planning... Security car again on the way out..Y(M|Km)MV

My wyfe had terrible experience at this store today, 07/18/2021.My wife wanted to grab four bottles of orange juice in the open refrigeration area. The problem was there was an empty box sitting on top of orange juice bottles that needed to be removed in order to grab the orange juice. An incident happened when my wife took the empty box out of the refrigeration area and put it on the floor. A worker, revealing herself as a supervisor approached her and started yelling that she couldnt put the empty box on the floor because it could trip other customers. My wife couldnt believe what she just heard. First of all, the worker should have removed the empty box from the refrigeration area so that customers can easily access to what they want. Secondly the worker could have just hauled away the empty box herself instead of yelling at the customer. Someone looking like a manager came but wouldnt do anything but trying to stay side with the worker.My wife wants an apology from Lidl about the incident. This is by far the worst experience weve had in shopping at any stores. We will never shop at this store again and post this complaint everywhere in SNS until hearing an apology from Lidl.

Nice Lidl, though a bit small. Has good prices and I like that they carry different things each week. The full size carts are definitely too big for the isles, and the small carts are hard to find since everyone uses them.

Great local grocery chain. Good prices on fairly unique items. Great for everyday supplies that dont warrant a Costco investment. Has an interesting section that changes periodically with all sorts of seasonal and new items.

This place has great prices, but im giving it a 2 star because everytime I go theres a huge line and only 1 cashier, they have to stop being cheap. Theres no one to help you bag your groceries and put it in your cart, and you are rushing to put all your groceries in your bag then cart and all these customers are waiting behind you like I caused a bottleneck situation. Lidl spent all this money on building a new location but they are horrible with customer service. I had my mother complaining about their service because she is elderly and has difficulty.

I find the meat is fresher and more reasonably priced. They have enough fruit and veggie selection. While I may not find everything I need, I can find 85% of what I need at a lower cost.

Ive been here two or three times and never found most of what I was looking for. Products as basic as cinnamon, chili powder, vanilla extract, and even a half gallon of skim milk were nowhere to be found. At best, I could have bought about a quarter of my shopping list here. With how long the lines were and the fact that I would have to do most of my shopping somewhere else anyways, Ive saved myself the time and hassle and just done all my shopping at Giant or Safeway since.As another reviewer said, I dont know how they took the same space that had used to hold a spacious and well-stocked Shoppers Food Warehouse and turned it into this cramped Lidl with so little selection. They must have an absurdly spacious stock room and prep space.

5 stars for the prices and European items not easily obtained elsewhere. An upscale Aldi experience.2 stars for the checkout, 6 registers, of which 1 is operating after 8pm.Overall, definitely worth it but find a good time with limited checkout lines.

Terrific prices and a wide range of American and international foods - but their secret is an incredible in-store bakery! Try their pretzel rolls: Delicious with butter or cold-cuts. It feels like youve been transported to Europe when you get home with your groceries!

Youll find some good food & bargains here, sometimes at the same time. I dont do my general shopping at Lidl, but its become my go to for certain items.

Its 19 April 2021, I am shopping atlidle burke va. This is convenient store. I am rating 1 star because of the attitude of customer service manager. Her name is Melissa. She has big attitude what I found after questioning her. U was looking for something I could find. I question her. She looked at me in madly and said its right there. Its was bad customer service experience. The manager didnt seem to know anything about good customer service.She should stay home if dont want work. Beware of the products. Always check the expiration dates. I just bought eggs only to find out they expire TODAY! And the milk expired 3 days later. Always check what you’re getting.

Nice discount prices with above-discount quality. Yummy imported and specialty food. Hummus and iced tea are great. So is the tahini sauce. Bakery has great pizza bread and doughnuts, cookies and egg custards. Milk and eggs are super cheap. They also have lots of nice basics for under a dollar - like tortilla chips and macaroni.

Not a great selection, but very good prices and always interesting rotating selections.

Its a new store but it has a very little space between shelves and checkouts. There is no self checkouts and usually only one or two checkouts work on a regular basis. It creates chaos in this tiny space which is absolutely not good during the covid19 pandemic.

I paid for my stuff and my grandma brought one more item that she forgot to get and I ask the cashier that I’ll pay for the items too and she gave me a attitude. Bad customer service! Someone is literally having a bad day.

The Lidl in Springfield was a mess. I was surprised the store was low on baked goods. My family member who lives close to that location said the first time she went into the store it also looked that way. She does not shop there it was only her second time being in the store.

I went there to see how it differed from the Lidl in Springfield. The layout is way worse. It has more space than the Springfield store, yet somehow it was more cramped. Especially the produce.

This place takes over the space vacated by the now-defunct Shoppers Food Warehouse and one cant ask for a better replacement! Prices are great and despite the overall limited selections, if youre into German and other European holiday treats such as Stollen, Lebkuchen, Pfeffernüsse cookies, etc. youve come to the right place! As a Lidl member, you get additional discounts for selected.items on top of the already low prices, which makes for even better deals!

No more than 1 cash register open at any time of day and no self check outside! Super frustrating standing in line for days every.single.time.

Good prices only go so far. Not sure if Ill be back with all the issues you have.1) You arent keeping things in stock. You had stuff in stock the 1st time I was there but the other two times Ive been theres been something on my list that I got before and liked but wasnt in your store the next time I went. So I have no idea what youll actually be selling when I go.2) You had all that time to plan the layout and went with making the store smaller and leaving the pilars in the middle of the isles that are already just barely wide enough for your oversized carts.3) You arent managing your carts. Ive come across at least 4 abandon carts blocking isles every time Ive been in. One of the times I went everyone was shopping with the little kid carts because all your other carts were out in the parkinglot not brought back to the store. And another time I couldnt get a cart into the store because you had carts with locked up wheels blocking the entrance.4) Your check outs take a lot longer than any other store in the area and run down the isles. You have to already be in the checkout line to get any items from those isles so if I wanted something from more than one of those isles Id have to wait through checkout multiple times in one trip since pushing through a crowd while trying to keep covid distance to get to the items isnt possible.Edit: went back again because you had a smart idea of giving $10 off coupons on top of your already low prices. Seems like you have been listening to customers. Things were all in stock this time. Check out was a lot smoother. There were carts available but only the oversized ones and no abandoned carts in the isles but getting those oversized carts through that front area with the produce and bakery is still a challenge. Why have the oversized carts, with the smaller size of the store is anyone even coming close to filling those up?

This place is so clean it is lovely it’s family friendly my favorite thing about it is that they have carts for children my son comes in there and he plays with the carts all the time so it’s very helpful I would recommend the store to any and everybody and everybody there that works there a very helpful there and positive moods it’s great

What. A. Uniquely. Horrible. Experience.This has nothing to do with me not being prepared for no-name products or bagging my own groceries or even on a new staff. The fault completely lies at the feet of the store planners and merchandisers. Its astounding how theyve been able to convert a completely satisfactory former SFW location and turn it into an overstuffed and simultaneously empty glorified NYC bodega.Id love to know what secret algorithms the Lidl bean counters used to inform their decision on the comically oversized shopping carts.Yes, bagging my own groceries is a chore (BuT tHe SaViNgS!) but its a harried experience when carts are blocking exits.Every moment of your shopping will be in a traffic jam. Honestly I wonder if its a fire hazard.Two stars because $.69 eggs are still $.69 eggs, but the next time I need some Im sure Ill be shopping elsewhere.We miss you, Shoppers Food Warehouse!

Very disappointed on my initial visit, I don’t understand how they took all that square footage that shoppers food warehouse had and made it into the tiny grocery store it has become. Selection is awful, and extremely limited. For example don’t expect to buy kosher hotdogs here. I walked in to this place three times now with the Intention to purchase groceries and walked out and drove to Safeway.Let’s hope this is phase 1 of a multi phased approach, or this place is going out of business.
