Cary was highly recommended by friends. Cary found a whole package deal on brakes struts shocks etc. Had it all perfectly installed same day we brought the SUV in. Quality parts. Saved me time, money and hassle for real. We didnt just save money that day, we found our new longterm mechanic with a helluva crew behind him. This place cares, and its obvious by looking at their service parking lot which was holding many local business vehicles for scheduled work. That tells me they are trusted and respected and our experience there proved that as well.

I recommend you avoid Begley Auto Repair and heres why.My son’s car broke down on Manatee and he only chose Begley to avoid a towing bill.Begley charged a hefty fee to diagnosis his cars problem and wouldnt apply any of it to the repair cost.After paying for the very big repair charge, the problem was unchanged – the work done was unneeded.He took the car back to Begley and they fixed the actual problem without reducing his bill.Evidently Begley only guessed at what repair was needed and the diagnosis charge was pure profit.Or Begley made an incompetent diagnosis and charged me for a more expensive repair than needed.

I brought my Toyota 4Runner in for a routine oil change and discovered that one of my cheap shocks installed by another company during a custom vehicle lift a few years back was completely detached from the axel - the vehicle squeaked and never felt right for years.Cary and his team of professionally trained technicians quickly scheduled me a complementary loaner and had my problems solved in a day. After reading Google reviews and the fact that the shop is within walking distance from my home, I chose Begley for some major work that I saved up for. Forrest was patient and courteous while we discussed a plan and he explained everything that they would do and made recommendations based on the nature of the repair. He then came to my place of employment and dropped off a courtesy car and picked up my car-I expected the work to take a couple of days but they were done within a little over 24 hours. They are also convenient because the store is open until 8 PM so if you have to come after hours, you have some time. I cant believe the difference in how my car runs now-I knew it was running bad before but now, I realize all the little ticks that I was expecting to happen while driving were not happening. I am new to the area and it is hard to find a mechanic who works on older model Subarus that you can trust-I took a chance and I am glad I did. They will be my forever mechanic and I highly recommend them.

Who ever was running the bait yesterday around 1 1:30 was very rude and unprofessional I know its hard to find good help these days but get rid of this person or lose business for sure!!

Great service and took care of my needs in a timely fashion. Great having a courtesy car drop me off at home and pick me back up when the service was complete. Only downfall is the amount of markup on parts of $100 or if you provide the part you pay and extra hour of Labor... $110. I can understand making some $$ but as a business owner seems excessive.

Pulled into the Manatee Shell station on a rainy Saturday with a bad battery. Cary the service manager treated us like we were long term loyal customers, we are not. We had a tire/steering control problem while traveling from Atlanta to Anna Maria. It’s always a challenge to find a good auto shop in a town you’re not familiar with. So, like most people, we trusted Google’ reviews and chose Begley’s because almost every review gave them a 5-star rating (with the exception of some 1-star reviews from people who are probably never satisfied.) We were not disappointed. Everyone at Begley’s was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. They were able to identify a wear problem on one tire that was making steering control difficult. They solved the problem overnight and even provided a courtesy driver who drove me home while they worked on it and came back to pick me up when the car was fixed. (I was sweating trying to find an Uber or Lyft in Bradenton.) All-in-all, we were extremely pleased with Begley’s and the service we received and would definitely recommend them in the future.

I originally took my car a Hyundai Elantra, to the dealership, for possible wheel bearings, maybe tires and a few other small items. For some reason I decided to call begley Auto repair, I do not know and have not never worked with them before,by the way . The service manager Julie had me bring my car by and gave me a quote on these items and repairs.what all was said and done I was about $800 less than the dealership, and I cant be happier with the work in one day. Worst scam place ever! Advertised a $19.95 oil change coupon. Was told my Chevy Sonic didnt take the oil advertised and it would cost me $56. When I asked for them to just use the advertised oil, they refused. Typical bait and switch tactic. Most dishonest outfit in Bradenton. Avoid at all cost!

Always loved this place!! Theyve been more than helpful for years and weve had many car issues since I was little. Pete has been a life saver on many occasions, going out of his way numerous times to get both my moms car & my van running when both were dead in the driveway. Fiance brought her truck to this ripoff artist for an oil change, and told them she had an issue with the A.C. not working properly all the time, asking them to check the potential problem. 48 hrs later and a $800 repair bill later she has her truck bacl. They kept her vehicle for 2 days and did major work without consulting or approving. Recommend learning how to repair your own car, its cheaper.

Kudos to Pete Mann at Sunoco 4630 Manatee Ave. I took my tire to Shell at the corner of Manatee and 59th st. to be repaired. (Also Begley auto repair) The machine completely destroyed the rim. Theresa and Julie were extremely rude to me and did not want to take responsibility for the damage. I explained the situation to Pete and he was very professional and immediately took care of this problem by buying me a new rim. Thanks Pete!

Being new to the area and on a fixed income, I originally went to a car mechanic that was exorbitantly expensive. I recently was having car problems, but did not want to go back to previous mechanic. I decided to go to Bagley Auto Repair since it was close to where I live. The experience was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and most helpful. Its a family owned business and very reputable. Meagan at the front desk was very professional and most courteous. She even was kind enough to lower the quoted price by a sizeable amount, with a coupon she gave me. Being a widow who knows nothing about cars or anything mechanical, I felt I was in excellent hands with everyone at Bagley Auto. In fact my friend that drove me to pick up my car, picked up one of their business cards and he told me that he and his family were going to be their new customers

On 3/21/17 I left my 1998 Dodge Dakota for a new starter, when i went to pick it up it surprised me, even after they and called and gave me the cost it really did not sink in untill later after calling some parts places and was told that the starter should cost about $125.00 with the core return.I was charged $199.00 for the starter a 50% markup. I understand making some profit from the parts, this ws a little extreme.

LEAST PROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTISTSGas pump sensor was broken and spilled about 4 gallons of gas all over the ground and on my car. Went in the shell and asked for assistance and a refund for the wasted fuel. A guy from Begley (specifically the second guy from the left in the group photo) came over and told me to get the f*** out of his store and when I told him it was inappropriate to use that language with a customer he lifted his arm to throw a punch. Talk about a guy with anger issues. NEVER GO HERE.

As luck would have it, our check engine light came on the day before we were to head back towards Atlanta (the nightmare vacation)! My Wife called at least 6 mechanic shops and nobody had time to help us because it was 4th of July holiday weekend. Most of them were booked solid. The repair was going to take 2 to 4 hours to replace a bad cylinder coil. The intake had to be removed.She finally got in touch with Begley Shell Auto Repair (thank GOD); and one of their mechanics asked us to have the car at the Manatee Avenue location early on Saturday, before our scheduled departure time back to Atlanta. Pete checked us in and our car was ready to go 2.5 hours later.We cannot thank these wonderful people enough for changing a nightmare into a miraculous event for our Family. You see, we also had our two 7 year old twin grand boys with us that suffer severely from Asthma. Pete made sure that we were taken care of and were comfortable during our stay there. I am 63 years old and would place him in the top 5 of all Managers Ive known in my life for courtesy, friendliness, and understanding. He explained our situation very simply and made the experience very enjoyable. The repair cost was fantastic!!!!! My Wife and I also want to thank the mechanic, Jeremy, for explaining everything he did very clearly and being so friendly himself. Even though this rating goes up to 5 scale with 5 being Very Satisfied, I would have to give them a 7. After all, extra credit needs (when earned) to be given to places even out of High School for Companies like this one. Begley Shell truly has the Customer Focus attitude down pat. I work for Georgia Power Company; and I know what Customer Care is all about, believe me! We made it back to Atlanta (500 miles away) save and secure thanks to the employees at Begley.GOD Bless you all!!!!!!!!!

I rewrite: My experience w/Sunoco has been outstanding; even more so when I learned that Pete M. was at this address, 4630 Manatee Ave. I immediately made an appointment to continue services w/him. My husband, my mother and myself used Petes service, on our 3 cars, since the mid-1980s when he was at 60th Avenue and 41. Now my husband has dementia; my mother is deceased. Yet I have the excellent care and service from Pete and Sunoco for the continued use of my car.I will never change, as long as they are together; auto care trust is a huge trust, once established. Since I needed advice, info re care of this car, plus additional assist, like using my new car jack system--whatever Ive asked--Ive received honest and thorough education and repairs from Sunoco and from Pete. My recent visit, May 20, 2015, was again, just as excellent.That Mr. Begley, the owner, additionally called me to inquire of the quality of this service is laudable. And that a ride home and back to Sunoco, after a days repair, is part of their service, is beyond what most auto repairs offer--an added treat to spend the day at home, while the car is repaired. I thank you all, including the knowledgeable service employees. Definitely 5 star service.
