Great store. Some of the staff looked bored except for the cashier who was very friendly. All the arts and craft supplies that you can imagine. Coupons and mobile coupons are easily accessible from your phone. Only complaint was that the bathrooms were really bad. The handicapped stall was filthy. Dust on the walls and on the toilet paper liners.trash on the floors.the store had just opened around the time i was shopping so i couldnt understand this.besides that the store is wonderful and opens early for us earlybird shoppers

Love the Christmas selection. However, Joann does not carry a variety of buttons. I was there looking for a buttons for a suite I have. The buttons were to plan, nothing dressy.

Great selection of sewing and crafting supplies at reasonable prices, along with excellent customer service! Whats not available in stores can usually be ordered online and delivered!

I went in for some fabric today and immediately saw multiple customers not wearing masks at all, completely ignoring store policy. They have lost my business for allowing such disregard for the safety of ALL customers to happen.

Not enough choices for what I was looking for

My second time in the store, I went to get some fabric for our wedding. They gave us the fabric we needed but wouldnt cut it the way we needed it to be cut for our ceremony. I understand they may have customers that would bring back the other fabric but they wouldnt even cut it, even if we had kept the extra fabric.In order to get it cut like we needed for our ceremony, we had to go to a different fabric store. They did however have a great selection though. More than a lot of stores.

Terrific store for the serious seamstress. Amazing selection of everything and friendly customer service (including a polite cashier) which is pretty rare these days. The only reason they did not get 5 stars is ridiculous retail prices. Yes you can get a coupon and they honor it very easily but if you check their prices on the Web you will see their prices are marked up beyond retail to start with. I dont think that is an honorable way to run a business.

This location is not kid friendly. The staff has made my child cry on 3 different occasions now.

Staff wasnt too aware of product I was looking for and couldnt suggest where to find it in town. I took 2 minutes on the internet and found some at another store I frequent. Not too impressed with the service. It seems people are hired to stock shelves, run cash registers and ignore customer needs.

Your typical JoAnns with most everything you need for DIY projects or seasonal decorations. While the workers were polite and helpful there were no direction lines for the aisles and limited 6ft markers throughout the store.

Rude and terrible service. When asked for assistance the was literally told, “what” by an employee as if I was bothering her. Followed around the store like a criminal. Not given my yellow slip in my hand, but instead in between the fabric. When the slip was misplaced, the cashier told me she’d look through all the fabrics to find it as if I’d lost the slip intentionally. Absolutely terrible service from beginning to end. When I asked the manager for the number to corporate office, she gave me a bogus number. The “ladies (?)” clearly do not value their customers. Will never ever be returning... bleh.

My favorite thing about this craft store is that they are open until 9:00. Its also more craft focus compared to Hobby Lobby where half the floor space is dedicated to decor.The selection here is impressive to me. You could easily spend an hour or more hunting through the fabric and patterns. When it comes to tools and materials Joann also excels. There is a dizzying amount of cutting implements, brushes, and adhesives. Perfect.Service is predictable for a retail experience. They dont go out of their way to check on you, but its usually easy to find someone to help. The cutting table seems to always be well staffed even near closing time which is greatly appreciated. Cashiers are courteous and patient when you are fumbling about with your smart phone trying to pull up a coupon.Speaking of coupons, do plan ahead and look for savings if youre a thrifty shopper. The prices on several items will be higher than what you can get online, but when you need it now, its fine.They deserve special mention for their support of the crafting community. They feature several in store classes and local craft groups can even use their meeting space to meet. That makes me feel good about supporting this store.

JoAnn Fabrics has a large selection of fabrics. Their prices are usually better than online fabric stores. I tend to shop when they are having sales and use coupons to help with the cost of fabric and notions (especially notions!). Staff is helpful. Most are knowledgeable about sewing and can offer helpful suggestions.

The store has items Hobby Lobby and others do not. Plus the new digital embroidery machines are awesome form beginner to advanced industrial. Well lit store with plenty of staff to help with any need as they are knowledgeable and friendly.

This was my first time at Joanns, and I was pretty impressed by the selection. In particular, their fabric selection is the best I know of in the area. Nearly the entire left side of the store is dedicated to fabrics of all sizes, materials, and patterns. The staff there was very friendly, and the store well-kept.

Great store for crafts. I also learned they offer beginner classes to learn how to sew, knit, and crochet. I will definitely be going back.

I try not to complain about people bc everyone has stuff going on but these are some very drab and unfriendly people that work at this store. If you stop and ask them a question, they act like you are bothering them. If you dont like your job, go work somewhere else and let someone have the position that does not mind helping customers and realizes it is their job to do so. I am so glad I found another fabric store. I now will only shop here if it is an absolute must! ☹

Joanns is great if youre looking for fabric but only mediocre for other types of art supplies. They have a lot of stuff in their store but its mostly just the basics for other anything besides fabric. Meaning if youre looking for a very specific product youre better off trying Michaels or a dedicated art store.

I went there to shop for my daughter cause she loves to sew. I wasnt very knowledgeable in fabrics,etc but Trisha took the time to help me with all my fabrics that my daughter needed.They have almost every fabric design you can think of & there very reasonable in prices. Plus the extra coupons helps a lot as well.My only complaint is the sewing & cutting tables is in the middle of the floor room,which makes the actual walk way a bit narrow. Especially if you have a basket. But Ill definitely go back!!!

Great customer service

I don’t like to even say this, but the woman I talked to was so rude. I was inquiring about fabric for masks to help with our current situation and she shut me down quickly then told me to just google it.

Becky is the rudest woman ever. Even my 13yr old commented on how rude she was. I will never come back to this store again. I myself work retail and completely understand the holiday frustration but that does not give you the excuse to act haughty and just nasty to anyone. I will take my need for quilting supplies elsewhere .

Horrible Service, Followed Me And My Mother Around the Store! We were looking around for jewelry supplies and we ask a woman where to find Jewelry at and she began to follow us around the store! Never going back!

The cashier used her Joanns app to get me a considerable discount on my purchase. They also had great sales on Christmas decorations. Will definitely return!

Be careful if you order online. Check your order before you leave the store. I have received paint that had been opened. It was obvious as the lid was crooked and the seal was lifted, but I did not notice until I unpacked the order at home. It is not worth fighting BR traffic to return a $10 bottle of paint. Very smart of them to tie knot the bag closed. I am sorely disappointed. This almost seems like a sneaky way to move product that wouldnt otherwise be chosen off the shelf.Previously this past winter I picked up an order of yarn which I had placed online. It, too, was tied into the bags. When I got home and unpacked it, two of the skeins were not in product wrappers. They were wrapped in plain white paper stapled shut. I should have learned from that experience, but since the yarn was intact with no end joins or unraveling I used it. But that should have been a warning sign to go in-store and pick out my own things.Not sure if I shall be returning to this Joann.

Ive worked in retail/customer service most of my life, so I can understand when an employee is having an off day, but my last visit at this store was really frustrating. I ordered a pickup for 3 packets of sticker paper. The total was $17 after a 40% discount for ordering online - the normal price per packet was $10.99. I drive to the store and find out via email that my order has been cancelled because they didnt have it. I went in and found what I had ordered - they just didnt want to get it. I see theres a sale for Buy 2, Get 1 Free. I bring it to the cash register, where another frustrated customer is saying Fine, just take this. and handing the cashier money. I put my items down and suddenly the total is $39. I asked about the Buy 2, Get 1 Free discount. Cashier says the computer didnt pick it up. I say alright, then Ill just get one at regular price and use my 50% in-store coupon on it. Rings it up - $15. The 50% coupon hadnt gone through. I ask her to run it again. Nothing. I reiterate that Im buying 1 regular priced item so the coupon should work. She agrees and then just stares at me. I ask if the manager could put in some sort of code or see what the problem is. Cashier says shes not there. Stares at me some more. The line is getting really long, so I ended up just paying the full price. Turns out, the frustrated customer in front of me had the exact same experience. I payed $15 for 1 packet, when I could have gotten 3 packets for $2 more. It was really aggravating to have an employee not do anything about it and then wait for you to give in like it didnt matter. Really disappointed.

JOANN Fabrics and Crafts is the best craft and hobby supply store on the Northshore. I prefer them over the two major competitors. First, if you sew, there fabrics are beautiful, the prices are fair, and the selection is great. It’s a REAL fabric store. Second, if you bake, they will have everything you need. And third, their decor is unique and their prices and sales are good. You can get inline coupons as well. The staff is knowledgeable and ready to help.

They did not have what I went for, despite the website stating that they had 51 items of 24 artificial bales of hay in stocks there was none in the store. So disappointing as I drove over an hour an hour one way to get there.

I like this store, but its a bit on the pricey side. I do like the organization of taking a number to get fabric cut. Sometimes hard to find someone to help you in the store when looking for certain items.

I really wish they had a better selection of quilting pieces. There were some jelly rolls, but I was hoping to find things like layer cake bundles.

The female cashier who had the brunette blunt cut and vacant face tonight 11/8 at 5:30pm was atrocious. If customer service isnt your thing its OKAY - find another occupation.

The workers here are so rude, apparently only older white women are worthy of quality customer service. I’ve visited this location two days in a row and the workers are so rude, don’t even greet or talk. Yesterday I bought fabric and after she cut my desired length she walked it up to the register herself right after watching her give the lady before me her fabrics in hand. She is an older lady with blue colored hair and super rude. I came back today to return it and the manager is unbelievably condescending. I went to go through the process making sure my length matched my receipt and I went to the station and the lady never spoke and just reached her hand out. The only time she was faking a conversation was when the manager came near, she was also older with short cut hair and glasses. The amount of disrespect these workers have is sickening. Don’t know why they’re so rude to me because I’m young or what, but it needs to stop. I’m spending my own money and the least they can do is be nice, customers like me are the reasons they have jobs and I or anyone else shouldn’t be treated this way.

Great fabric selection, adequate in other departments. As a multi medium crafter I prefer Hobby Lobby. But there is this great year to make blankets there that I found. That was great.

Great fabric, absolutely terrible service. No one would answer basic questions about fabric lengths. Brittni cut my fabric and refused to answer any questions and just shook her head yes or no while chewing gum. Barely answered questions that required more than one word response. No one working there seemed to care about customers’ needs or concerns. They offered a discount on the fabric after I pointed out a stain on the fabric I got, and didn’t tell me until I was finally about to check out that I could only get it if I downloaded their app.Only come to this store if you are looking for good fabric and know exactly how much you need and have no questions.

Not the stores fault but, I bought a 100 pack of Adobe Basics™ tealights and they suck. Each candle only burns for about 30 minutes and the wick is gone while half of the wax remains. Kinda got stuck having to use them during the holidays.The staff, as usual, is generally fine with a few who shine.

Bought an item off shelf that had previously been opened and taped back together . . . last one on the shelf. There IS a reason the item was returned! It didnt function properly. When I went to return it, with receipt and stated that it was being returned in same condition as purchased. The cashier stated they couldnt take it back, stating JoAnns doesnt sell opened packaging. When I insisted the package was purchased as returned, she called the manager. The manager gave me the same line. I DONT appreciate being called a LIAR by the poorly trained staff at a store with product quality control issues. Worst return experience ever. Will not go back!

Great store with pretty good selection. I do wish there were more silks, linens and quality velvet to choose from. The staff is always helpful, and the classes I have taken have been wonderful.

This place has everything you need for arts and crafts. My daughter had a blast picking out stuff to make necklaces and earrings.

Prices on bolts different than what was charged. Tried to show check-out person but he didnt seem to understand. I even showed him what was written on the bolt. Too tired to argue and I was ready to leave. Childs tin watering can regularly $19.99 (???really?) but on sale for $9.99, can be purchased at Target for $6. Not a good shopping experience. Lady cutting fabric clearly did not want to be there. When my number came up and I asked for help in figuring amount of fabric I needed, she said that I would have to wait until she finished cutting fabric for all of the people in line. What was the point of me taking a number? The other person cutting fabric was able to help his person figure out what she needed. Sad.

There is one particular older lady employee that is sometimes in fabric of check out. She is extremely extremely rude. Actually an understandment. I’m always extremely nice and patient with her and encountered her three times and no matter what she is soUgly to me. Labels also are correct on items (which I never said anything to the lady because she makes meSo uncomfortable that I just want to leave)

Always love going to Joanns Fabrics especially since they have so much more. I think almost all the popular crafts and hobbies are represented. They generally have pretty good sales, but they are a bit more pricy than other like stores.

Jo-Anns didnt have what I was looking forbut I enjoyed being there because they had so much more I hadnt had a good fabric experience since Hancocks fabric close so I will be going back

Gigantic store compared to other Jo-Ann locations. Great variety of stock & some items I havent found in other Jo-Anns. It seemed organized & clean for the most part. They had so much fabric that it was difficult to get assistance finding something specific & to have fabric cut can take awhile.

EDIT 1/12/2020:Updating my review of Joanns the staff has become rude and seems to have poor communication skills now. But the store seems very under staffed now so their attitudes might be reflected due to the increased stress of running the store understaffed. Very disappointed in what theyve become as I have enjoyed coming here in the past.OLD REVIEW:I love this store. They have the widest selection of yarn that Ive seen in Baton Rouge and the friendliest staff. They offer classes in everything from sewing to crochet to baking and even kids classes. The store has a lot of fabric materials to help you finish whatever project you may have and its always a joy for me to visit since I usually find a little something else to help decorate around the house along with my craft stuff. I also love that they always have good sales and coupons.

My go-to place to buy yarn. Good selection of extra soft yarns & big brands. Theres usually some on sale & the daily emails have coupons that can be scanned at the register.

Its your typical JoAnns store, which means low quality fabrics. Great place to buy garbage stock for someone to practice sewing, but not a very good selection if youre into making heirloom-quality. For those projects, do yourself a favor, go to a specialty fabric outlet, pay a bit more and be WAY happier with your finished product.

Staff has always been helpful and able to answer questions Ive had. Ive been able to ask advice on various projects Ive had to complete and they have always been able to help me figure out what I need to complete it.

Crafters often overlook JoAnns while scouring the aisles of Michaels and Hobby Lobby, and thats a shame. While they have some of the same fabrics, they have lots of differing colors in felt, plenty of wood project items to choose from, egg crate, and beads you wont find elsewhere. They run sales just like the other two AND they take competitor coupons! Depending on what you need or what side of town youre on, its worth the drive.
