This is a really cute store. While it may be small and the prices might be high, the selection and atmosphere cant be beat.

Ive been searching for months for the perfect pair of vintage jeans and Ive been super unlucky but I found 2 pairs of Levis in perfect condition that I adored for only $30 each. I also spent $5 on a mystery bag for my little sister and it came with a matching necklace & bracelet, another bracelet, a cute ring, sunglasses, a pin, and a pair of cactus earrings that she loved. Really good selection and awesome staff.

I’ve been shopping at Blue Velvet for more than a decade. It is a perfect combination of reasonably priced and perfectly curated. The employees are attentive and friendly and I’ve been particularly impressed by the way they have handled the covid situation by opening up for individual private shopping appointments. I seriously can’t wait for them to reopen their doors for regular hours, I need some jeans!!

A go-to stop on the North Loop circuit whenever I need some new (old) threads. Excellent selection and a maddening array of temptations near the checkout counter. Love this joint!

Thank you for staying open despite 1,000,000 plus cases of covid in TX! Its insulting that some people feel compelled to leave petty, self-important, and trollish comments when the BV staff is literally risking their own health to help others find cool stuff. Please, support local stores. Its not business as usual these days.

Blue Velvet has tons of quirky fun winter coats and furs. Theyll usually have a sale for non-seasonal items if youre the plan-ahead type. I love their belts and bags selection. Also a great place to rent a one-time wear costume piece or accessory. Prices are good and the stock is always changing.

Blue Velvet does a great job curating their selection. Despite being vintage or second hand, everything is attractive and in good condition. They also stock clothes in a variety of sizes. I have always been able to find something I like that fits well. Im also always impressed by their extensive holiday sweater collection every winter.

Blue Velvet is my favorite part of Austin. I recently moved up to the Fort Worth area and miss it so much. And to all the people saying they thought it was cramped and didn’t love the staff, I feel like the charm of Blue Velvet is just that, and a lot of people take introverts the wrong way, so I can see why someone might think the staff is rude. Personally I have never had a problem with the staff, and they have always been super helpful. This place honestly isn’t that expensive considering the rent of the place and the quality of the clothing they sell. I always find something after looking through everything and have never walked out empty handed. I love this place so much, please give this place a visit if you can.

I love Blue Velvet! I always end up getting that song stuck in my head just thinking about it. They have a really wide range of quirky cool vintage clothing for women. The clothes are always a little too outlandish for my personal taste, but I always adore their selection of sunglasses. Always really unique and in great condition for somewhere around $10. Always a great experience!

Lots to choose from but a bit pricey. For example, vintage Levi cut-offs for over $20.Though, if you are looking for old Levis and vintage dresses and mens button downs, give this place a look please. The staff is very nice. But, if you are looking for a place with more of a variety of prices, then I would suggest somewhere else.

They have happy hour every Sunday? Yes they do. 20% off vintage and free drinks guaranteeing that you will walk out having bought something. The often chic clothing and accessories that they carry are pretty cheap anyway so in my opinion it is worth a browse any time of the week.

Blue Velvet is packed with vintage goodies; and I mean packed. This small space holds a tremendous amount of unique vintage items at very reasonable prices. One of my favorite things about it is the colorful collection of tutus and petticoats suspended from the ceiling like froufrou chandeliers. Lovely! And the service cannot be beat!

Located right between Epoch Coffee and Breakaway Records on North Loop, Blue Velvet is always a good weekend stop. The shop is fairly small and can get a little cramped if there are more than about five people in there, but they manage to fit an impressive number of vintage clothing items and accessories from different decades into the limited space that they have. Youll definitely want to give yourself enough time to look through everything, as a lot of great items can get kind of buried on the racks. Prices are fairly reasonable; Id say theyre comparable to Buffalo Exchange (and the clothing is a lot more interesting to look through).

I went to Blue Velvet on Red River. I went to Blue Velvet on Guad. And now I walk down the road to the Blue Velvet on North Loop. I had no idea they had a happy hour, so Ill be glad to go back tomorrow. I find things I like here, even if I cant always afford them. The staff is friendly, and always seems willing to help. Its right next door to Epoch and Breakaway Records, so you can do some real damage to your wallet if youre so willing.

Literally just left the store, I purchased some clear glasses at the beginning of October and the left arm came unglued I just stopped by to see if I could swap them out and was told I couldn’t swap out unless it was the same day? I was then told they had another pair and I could purchase them if I would like and that’s the reason they are priced at $10 it’s 1:43 on a Sunday and they aren’t the only vintage store in Austin. I resorted to ordering them from Amazon where they are also $10 and I will now go else where for my vintage needs. Thanks to the lack of customer service.
