Not only did she take the time to look up the specs to make sure it would most likely fit, she assured me that no matter what happened (even if it wouldn’t fit through the door), I would end up with a gorgeous sofa and she would be there to guide me through the entire process. Having someone there to relieve even a little bit of the stress of a big move is invaluable, and I cannot thank Leslie enough for her guidance and support and encouragement. They no longer have a store in Houston. Despite the pandemic and supply chain challenges- even a cyber attack!- they delivered our beautiful new sofa just 3 months after we ordered it. It had been quite a few years since Id bought living room furniture, but Maya made the whole process less intimidating for me. One can be quickly overwhelmed by the number of couch and chair options, but Maya took the time to walk me through the whole store (probably more than once 😀 ), and took each of my criteria into consideration when helping find the right furniture my home. Maya made the whole experience very personable and I never felt pressured to make a purchase that wasnt right for me.

I have to budget extra when we go into Louis Shanks because we always find something we werent planning on, but cant live without. Every last piece we have bought here becomes an instant family heirloom. Lesley helped us with a recliner years ago and has since become a trusted advisor in all things furniture related. We try other stores but always wind up back at LS because the downgrade quality at other stores just isnt worth the savings.

I had to furnish an entire office after everything was damaged by water from pipes breaking after the winter storm. I had to get the office back up and in business in less than a month. These guys DO NOT sell or stand behind quality furniture.We worked with Louis Shanks for a couple of weeks to select fabrics on a custom Marge Carson couch that would sustain life with pets and a kid and generally be center of a lived in living room. I worked hard with the sales team to ensure I was buying quality. The sales team was proactive and responsive. The transaction was well over $10,000. I also bought an additional warranty. This was the second large furniture purchase I have ever made and I wanted it to last a lifetime so I worked hard to ensure I could find a quality piece that also looked nice. The couch sustained damage within the first days. I worked with my sales rep to have the warranty representative and the representative of the manufacturer come see my couch. They agreed that the couch had flaws, such as the way the buttons were sewn on, the fact that the pillows were not made as ordered, and that the fabrics were not holding up to being touched or sat upon. Additionally, there was damage from my cats. While I specifically paid for fabrics that would be tough enough to sustain my cats, I am willing to concede that Louis Shanks should not be responsible for that. The cat scratches have nothing to do with this and are not part of what I ever asked for. The representative also told me that I bought a Lamborghini and should expect constant issues. I was not sold a Lamborghini nor did buy a Lamborghini. I bought a living room couch. As they left, the representative said he wanted to make me happy but I did not hear anything for almost two months. When I did finally get a hold of Chuck, he let me know they do not intend to do anything and that I can just sue them because I have cats. They wont even allow for the use of the warranty I purchased. I just want the quality I purchased.DO NOT waste your money on this place!

Despite the pandemic, Scott and Louis Shanks made us feel comfortable. Scott spent several hours with us making our choices. We live several hours away so we really needed to make as much of our purchases in one day. Even prior to walking into the store, the manager and Scott both reached out by email to learn about our furniture needs.

Our experience with Scott at Louis Shanks was amazing. This was our third furniture store stop in our search for a leather power recliner and he was extremely helpful. We had shopped online for the same chair and he was able to meet their price.Update: After using our new recliners for a while, we noticed one of them had the lumbar feature in an uncomfortable position. This was extremely noticeable since both recliners were identical in looks but felt very different. We made a call to Louis Shanks and they scheduled an in house visit by a repairman. He diagnosed the issue and proceeded to correct it in our living room. Wonderful service experience for us.

These people know their inventory in and out, are very helpful and can answer any question you may have (well they answered any question that I had). The quality is great. Prices a little high but worth it considering the quality. This showroom is really great with all kinds of styles and pieces.

Shug was very friendly and extremely helpful. We were interested in a new couch but not very well versed about the options. Shug took the time to help us understand what each brand and style offered and helped us confidently find what we were looking for in a sofa. After having such a great experience before this I am saddened to give this review.I have to give them two stars. After my last stellar review for being so great, I have to take the back the stars. I went in there the other day to compare Louis Shanks mattresses Heirloom (Yosemite) their to Heirloom mattress and Denver mattress (Half Moon. ) It’s the same mattress. And it’s $1000 more a Louis Shanks. The best they could do was price match The Denver Mattress Company and give me free delivery and there horrid mattress cover for there comfort Guarantee. I would go with the Denver Mattress Company. The Denver Mattress Company was only $85 more for delivery with out the rudeness. I asked the gentleman at Louis Shanks to make copies for me of the information on the mattress and he told me I could walk up to the second floor after I just walked down that flight of stairs, to their business center to make a copy. Wow thats is service. They were pushy they were rude. If you look the part there super nice to you. If you don’t well you can forget about it.

Mary Andrea did a great job helping us decide what to go with for our couch to match the 2 chairs we had already picked out there. We custom the fabric for the chairs and she took the time to help us decide what fabric went best for the couch and pillows. We were so pleased with the customer service there and when our house was complete and they delivered our furniture we couldnt of been more happy!! We love it!!

We are a third generation Louis Shanks family. One of my mothers greatest joys was working with Ann Kilyoung and later Pete Helstrom to furnish my parent’s home that I now live in. Leslie Wechter and I began working together about a decade ago. She did a wonderful job with my sons home and also updating my home. She is not just my designer, she has also become my friend. We had a very positive experience shopping at Louis Shanks. We were looking for two recliners, not really knowing exactly what we wanted, but after being greeted soon after entering, the sales rep walked us through the different styles, colors, explaining the different features. He was patient with us and never made us feel that we needed to rush even though we found out the store closed at 6:00 and we didnt leave until close to 7:00! It was a relaxing time and not at all stressful. I do not like shopping for furniture, but this was painless!

As a former employee at this locations showroom i can tell you everything is based on demographics. I was discriminated against and i also seen other minorities treated differently as well! Customers... they do not care about you or your well being unless you are putting great money up! Go somewhere affordable and better because all the furniture is made up of the same material. Waste of time! Wish i could give 0 stars for this company because it is a mess. I’ve never dealt with racism at a job ever and i know these people will get theirs!

Louis Shanks has beautiful furniture, and we had great service from Rhonda. After we browsed the store and showedher our likes and dislikes, she scheduled a visit out to our house in Kingsland to look at our house and get measurements and colors. Then she worked up a list of furniture and fabrics she thought would work well in the house and we went back to the store to review and refine. She made great choices that we went with and helped us finalize our selections. Now we can’t wait until the furniture gets here!

My wife spent a small fortune here, so I feel obliged to say that I like her taste.

This place is awesome. These guys really know their product! Custom sofas for reasonable prices. You can customize everything from fabric to the height of the back of the sofa.

Leslie is our salesperson, and shes great with matching your colors and style, and shes not pushy. Louis Shanks has a ton to choose from and theyre getting better about stocking modern styles of furniture as well as the classic styles.

So far they have been great n easy to work with. Furniture hasn’t been delivered yet, but if goes the way the rest has, it has been a great experience. Rhonda has been great to work with n very prompt.

Our sofa cushions “crawl” the term chuck (a louis shanks manager) used. Chuck also stated he has to fix his daughters sofa cushions all the time (also purchased at Louis Shanks). They have sent repair people out twice and the sofa still has the same problem and I was told yesterday there was nothing they could do since it had been three years. My response was we have been complaining for three years and now you’re telling me it has been three years and there is nothing further you can do. Their solution was to buy more furniture from them.When we purchased their products the salesperson promised they would stand behind their products. That is not what is happening in my opinion.Chuck laughed when I said I guess my only option was to post my story and that maybe that would get some action. Chuck are you still laughing?

We purchased 2 leather swivel chairs a few months ago. One was immediately available and we took it home to Plano. We picked up the second one several weeks later and took it home, only to discover it wasnt an exact match (difference manufacturing dates, the normal variations in leather, etc.) Since the chairs were side by side in my office, it was not a good situation. Louis Shanks contacted Jay Phillips, their account manager for Our House Designs, and Jay came to our house in Plano. Once he saw the variation, he and Louis Shanks ordered a new pair of chairs to be matched at the factory. The matched, beautiful set of chairs arrived last Friday and we couldnt be more pleased! Its a long way to drive from Plano, but we are Louis Shanks customers and will continue to buy our furniture there - service and support make all the difference!
