Bought a brokered boat listed with Marine Max, a Sea Ray Sundancer 390. Horrible transaction process. The boat passed the survey and sea trial great. Went to pick up the boat with the manager, Roger Duffee and it would not start. Finally got it to start, he drove it to our dock and from there its been a nightmare. We tried to start it after Roger delivered it and it was dead. Marine Max told us we needed new batteries, which we bought even though the others were working perfectly a week ago. Put new batteries in ($1000 later) and the boat still wont start. Marine Max is taking no responsibility nor any explanation as to why they delivered us a boat that is not operational. What was supposed to be a happy experience has turned into a nightmare transaction. Once they got their 10% brokerage fee at closing they left us out to dry. They happened to represent the seller also in this transaction. They collected the tax at closing but had us sign a paper that makes us responsible for registering the boat. We cant register the boat until they release our tax money to the game and wildlife department. Since they collected the tax they should be responsible for registering the boat. Marine Max said it could take up to a month for them to pay the taxes because they are in a very busy season. After many phone calls we are left with a boat that does not run, zero help from their service department and not able to be registered. I am extremely disappointed in Marine Max and their level of service.

Always super helpful sales associates. Great service and most of them really know their stuff. It’s nice to see a business uphold good quality service and it’s something unfortunately that’s gone away over the years with many businesses becoming transactional. Dont Your time calling this place to ask about parts or service because nobody answers the phone. Ive called almost four times and the receptionist dispatch me to parts department twice each call. Ive been calling for the last hour and no one picks up the phone. I needed to see if they had the oil and filter for my 5 jet skis which is about $350 worth of parts. But if you cant answer the phone Im taking my business elsewhere.

This is a great place to shop. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Saidi and Marin are the ones that helped us find the boat we purchased. From the convention center and back they were very helpful, thoughtful and if they didnt have the answers, they were found in record timing. Saidi still calls periodically to make sure that everything is still up to par and finding out if there is anything at all that he can do to help. Marin had to do the paperwork over for me a couple times, but she did it with a smile on her face and I know at times we are all not easy to please at times. She did it exactly like I wanted it to be. As a business owner myself, its good to be treated fairly and to have an honest attitude along the way. I would highly recommend and if I chose to get something else, I will come right back to the same place. Thanks guys!!

Hands down, one of the worst customer experiences Ive had. It started two months ago when I walked into Sail and Ski to inquire about having underwater lights installed on my G23. I spoke to Ken in service and after discussing options I decided to go with Liquid Lumens RGB. Ken sent me a docusign quote and I signed it. This was the second week of June, Ken let me know it would be after July 4th weekend before they could get it done. I followed up with Ken on 7/21 and he apologized that the ball was dropped on getting this scheduled. He let me know they would schedule the boat to be picked up on 7/28 and returned on 7/31. Fast forward to today, 7/28, boat still hasnt been picked up. I called Sail and Ski and was told that Ken was taking a leave of absence so I spoke with John in service. John called the boat pickup crew and they apologized for not picking up my boat and said they would try to pick it up tomorrow. Communication has been horrible, follow through has been horrible and the commitment from Sail and Ski to this point has been horrible. I made it clear to Ken in July that this was a big deal to our family but after all of this I get the feeling that Sail and Ski couldnt care less about my experience. I understand they are very busy with lots of boats going in and out but there is no excuse for dropping the ball this many times and not communicating every single time, it took calls and emails from me to them to make forward progress.

I used to go to Tracker down the street because I have a Tracker Pontoon Boat until they moved to Round Rock and now have a lousy stock of parts. So I stopped by Sail and Ski for the first time and was blown away at their location and service team! Great selection of items to get for your boat, had the parts I needed in stock, and even went back another time for a new tube and rope to pull behind my boat because my first few visits were outstanding! Guys in the service/parts department are awesome and knowledgeable! The staff for accessories and possibly sales are very friendly and helpful. You walk in greeted with smiles and without any pressure of a sales person trying get you into one of their fancy boats or sweet jet skis! I really appreciated that cause Lord knows you get my wife in there and next thing we are walking out with two jet skis. If you look lost or puzzled one of the staff will gladly assist you and guide you in the right direction. I did purchase a rope that was to small for my application so when I returned they had no problem at all exchanging it for the correct size and didnt charge me anything extra! Great job to the staff here and maybe one day Ill take the wife in there!! LOL

The entire team at MarineMax Sail & Ski - Austin could not have been more accommodating and easy to work with. I met Buzz Watkins and Roger Duffee at a recent boat show, explained that its always been a dream to own a boat, but havent taken the leap yet. They took control, made me feel comfortable with the process, answered all my questions, and got me the boat Ive wanted for as long as I can remember. Following the purchase, the level of service continued. Roger delivered the boat and stayed with me for a couple of hours until he and I felt comfortable. Roger even followed up the next day to see if I had any additional questions. I highly recommend the entire team at MarineMax Sail & Ski - Austin, especially Roger Duffee. The trailer was inspected and any problems such as a leaking brake cylinder were repaired. They even through in a spare to make sure I wouldnt get stuck on the side of the road. I was than on my way to pick up the boat and got a call to tell me that the bunks were slightly loose to conform to the boat hull when he boat was loaded on to the trailer and that once loaded I should tighten them back up. Ive only been here for accessories, some equipment, and shorts and such, but I usually check with them every year for service on my Crownline. The service department is always friendly and seems very knowledgeable, but they make a habit of up-selling service, their rates are very high, and the estimates seem to go higher every year. Example, I was just quoted annual service for $460 and a new impeller for $330. I want to go here as it is very convenient to my work and I like the shop, but I simply cant afford it. My regular shop is usually several hundred dollars cheaper and has always done good work, but is way out north of town.

To preface this review, it’s important to know that my boyfriend & I started as first time boat buyers with little knowledge on the boat purchasing process but had endless hours on other people’s boats.Quick summary of review, Sai is incredible. Our search began almost 2 years ago when we walked into Sail N Ski to check out boats. We were upfront in saying we weren’t in the position to buy a boat now. Sai wasn’t pushy & didn’t discard us for being newbies or not ready to pull the trigger, instead he provided us with the education we needed to make an informed purchase whenever it may be.Sai checked in with us frequently to share the latest & greatest info, used options, demos, etc. We also visited the store many times to see different boats and check what they had available. Sai always was there to help us out and provide us with information not to sway our decision but to give us different perspectives/ideas, things we wouldn’t normally think about or consider. When we finally took care of important life items, we reached out to Sai to tell him we were ready to rumble. He immediately sprung into action to find the perfect boat. We were first leaning towards a new G25, after learning (through Sai) that financially we needed to go a different direction, Sai showed us amazing used options. He took our ideas, mixed with his ideas/expert knowledge and found us the perfect 2016 G25 for our first boat purchase. We are absolutely in love with the boat and are so happy Sai was able to give us the knowledge to make an informed decision.Sai is a professional in every aspect of the word. He guided us through the entire process with patience and understanding. He is an amazing human and great sales professional. Sai went out of his way on many occasions & for many things to help us out....He also suffered through a laughable rain storm in the middle of Lake Travis on one of our Demo days.We will not go anywhere else besides Sail N Ski and with Sai for all our future boating purchases. Sai & Sail N Ski have made us a part of an awesome family we are stoked to be a part of.Thank you endlessly Sai! You are amazing. Also, thanks to Billy (financing) & Buzz (manager) for making it all possible... and for hiring Sai because he is simply awesome. Thanks to Jazz, Trevor, & Kristen for hooking us up with all the gear to get us surfing. But none of it would have happened without Sai.Sai for President!! 😊

Disclaimer, I am in retail sales and have been for the last 15 years. I am a manager and have also worked as a salesperson. I went to Sail and Ski because a friend of mine had worked there in sales several years back. He suggested I check them out because they have good quality boats and he said the owners are quality people. The first impression I had did not match his recommendation. My fiance and I went there fully ready to make a purchase decision. We walked around the boat showroom for well over 15 minutes without a single person greeting us. Actually, it seemed like nobody was even in the building. Finally, after climbing around a few of the boats, we were greeted by a young salesperson who seemed like he didnt even know how to say hello. I lowered the pressure for HIM by telling him I was ready to buy a boat and what I was looking for. Side note, I just received a call from Billy Mitchell (guessing the sales manager) who basically just accused me of throwing rocks at them when I simply told them I wanted to purchase with financing at $0 down. Caution, ANY dealer of boats who tells you they cannot offer financing with ZERO down, if you have good credit is lying through their teeth. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER. I was going to write a non-scathing review until this moron just called me with a completely unreasonable attitude. Heres the REAL STORY of why a dealer like this wants to INSIST on money down. They are working what is called a four-square. They know that if they can get money down from you before you talk payments, they can build in profit into the financing. DO NOT GIVE THIS DEALER YOUR BUSINESS. THEY ARE OLD SCHOOL JICK AND NOT CONCERNED WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. BILLY is an idiot and the owners of S&S need to wake up.

Ive been boat owner for 20 years and Im on my second Crownline bowrider. Sail and Ski service department has serviced both of my boats over the years. Ive been very pleased with their expertise, friendliness and help, these guys know boats and take great care of my boat. Two years ago I hit something while on lake Austin that took a nice bit out of my keel. John assured me they could repair the keel which now looks like new again. Late last year fishing line made its way into my Bravo 3 drive causing damage to the seals creating a drive fluid leak. Ken Doc Holiday had the tech trouble shoot the issue which was fixed quickly. All said, my most impressive service experience was this past December while again out on lake Austin. During an afternoon run the starter cable came lose causing me to be stranded at the 360 bridge boat doc. Two techs form Sail and Ski were out testing a boat so I walked up and asked it they would take a look. Without hesitation they grabbed their tools and crawled into the engine compartment quickly finding and fixing the lose starter cable. I was back on the water enjoying the day thanks to Sail and Ski!Call ahead like I do to schedule your boat for its annual service - these guys will take great care of you!

I winterized my jet ski here. For them this means getting water out of the exhaust system and spraying some fogging spray in the engine. This is completely ridiculous. Why anyone would pay 200+ $ for 5 minutes of work I can easily do myself is crazy. What they missed doing is the other 30 minutes of actually winterizing the jetski. What I thought I payed them to do because I didnt want to.The most obvious and easy first step would be to disconnecting the battery terminal. I was told Of course we would do that Yeah didnt do it. I will remove the battery charge it overnight and hope it still works. Not to mention all the stuff one would do like check fluids, spark plugs, air filter, anti freeze, ect, ect...and change accordingly....Then lube everything. Wow! I did not think I would be having to do all this work in the spring. Im off to buy spark plugs, remove and charge battery, clean off rust from unlubricated parts ect ect. Do yourself a favor and read a bit of your manual or watch you tube. Oh am I missing my boat shop 1000 miles away.
