Quite musical and has a lot of stories around it. Make sure you visit those places with local guide. Ivan from Malko Tarnovo is fantastic at explaining where and how to go. He drove us around the mountain with his Jeep and had quite interesting stories to tell.

An interesting place to find first and then to check out.As we went off season it was difficult to find. Then when you leave the car you need to walk uphil for about 10-15 minutes to find the stones and then, you have to find the hole through which you can pass.Thankfully we were the only ones there and the weather was good. If it was rainy I wouldn’t advice going uphill to see it as the road is too muddy.

Parking is available on the other side of the road and a small faded sign shows the entrance to the rocky path. You walk uphill for a few hundred metres to a shelter then youll come across the Thracian engraved rocks. Theres also a rock you can try and fit through for good luck and health.

Rock sanctuary Stone is located near Malko Tarnovo - east. The sanctuary consists of several rocks, the most impressive of which has the shape of a sponge. There is a gap in its base. According to the belief, if you go through it you will get rid of diseases and troubles for the whole year. On the next large stone there are carved sacred circles, where the Thracians placed their gifts to the deities.There is a path to the sanctuary. Be careful not to miss it. It is about a kilometer long. In summer, the area is famous for its unimaginable amount of small annoying flies.

We still couldnt make it. Very poorly marked place. No signs, and the forest path is not suitable for people with a baby. There were a lot of flies / mosquitoes, and we were told by the hotel that snakes were also found ... The sights of BG should be more clearly marked!
