I discovered this store a couple of months back and the only regret that I have is that I didn’t discover this store much sooner! The best prices in town, also they have the most fair system in attaining those hard to find rare bourbons. I love this place and I will forever shop this store first when it comes to my Bourbon collection.

Went to buy a bottle of Sazarac for a friends birthday and they would only sell it if I also bought a 2nd bottle of some other whisky that was twice as expensive. The cashier told me it was really good. If its so good, why do they have to force it on customers? And there were no signs regarding this forced purchase. Anyway, I left everything on the counter and walked out. Last time I ever shop there.

Refused service to me for not having a mask. They offered me a mask if I paid $1. What a joke. They have lost my business going forward. Just a money grab.

On Thursday 610/21 I drop to get a few bottles of Jack and wine.. now I have been here on many occasions.. to purchase alcohol.. be when I got home and over check my receipt.. I notice that I was over charge and they had give me the bottle of Jack! Because I live 10 mile away… I call and spoke who was told.. was the owner.. they put me on hold, pull the tape or the receipt.. they agree the error was on them.. I return on Tuesday 6/15/21 with the bottle and the receipt… only to be treated like a lier.. the so call owner Steve never came out to discuss or resolve the matter.. I will never step foot inside this place.. and now I’m going make the GA residence or where.. and I plan on going to the New Station to get my store out.

Store may have the best selection in Atlanta. Definitely some of the best prices.

The management in this place is a disgrace. Don’t shop here. Their prices are high and their customer service is low.

Owner blocks the handicap spot and entrance repeatedly, even after i alerted them to the problem that i could not enter in my wheelchair. i was ignored.awful. they deserve NO stars.

Ive been here twice before and had a good experience but my most recent visit will be my last. Recently they hired an extremely over zealous security guard that barks orders about where to stand and what to do. Even saw him get into a verbal argument with a customer that lead to the customer leaving. He made me stand by the entrance door, next to the line of people getting their temperature checked, to get my order leaned over a cooler instead of around the corner like I always had. Was very rude and dismissive when I tried to explain this to him. Be prepared to be ordered around like an enlistee training or go somewhere else.

They never check ID so check out is fast!

I had frequented a few liquor stores in the area previously, but Capital as of recently became my go to store. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the store has everything I need, and the prices are competitive. I highly recommend this place!

Love this location, the shelves are always organized and the store is very clean. They have a great selection and all of the staff are very personable. Since the ownership change they have made some upgrades to their registers and it makes the checkout process easier for the customer as well. I also really appreciate that they take the time to package your bottles appropriately so as to avoid bottles banging against each other, the extra touch makes a difference.

Until my past trip into the store this review would be 5 stars. I started coming to this store months ago. My first trip there was great, had over an hour conversation with the manager, picked up a couple nice bottles of bourbon and joined the VIP club. Was told if you join VIP club you would be called upon receiving certain bottles of allocated bourbon that are hard to find. I was all for it. 2nd trip was very similar, picked up some good bourbon, good conversation.Due to the pandemic, I wasnt able to visit Atlanta for a few months.Went into the store yesterday on my first trip back to Atlanta and what a difference. Nice older gentleman stocking shelves and running front. Picked up a few standard issue bottles and asked if they had any allocated bottles in the back for VIP club members. He told me I had to talk to Joseph the manager who was over there. With masks and lexan it was difficult to understand, but after a moment figured out it was the gentleman who was taking temperature at the front of the store. He also was sitting, 15 feet away and probably heard this entire conversation and said nothing. I walked over and asked about a couple bottles and if he had any good allocated bottles, to which he would barely look up from the videos he was watching on the phone and said they didnt have any. I finally asked if they had any Blantons to which he replied they keep it behind the glass at the front counter and they had a couple bottles. I went back and the older gentleman then told me they were $100.00 each. I went back to the manager and asked why they cost so much as they are typically $59.99 - $69.99 MSRP and $100 was clearly aftermarket pricing. Isnt this the point of the VIP club? His reply was that is standard pricing in GA, all while on his phone watching videos. I paid for the three standard bottles that I had on the counter and went along my way.If this is going to be how Joseph and management treats customers willing to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars and join their VIP club Im afraid they wont have any customers returning.

Rude employees twice in a row. I wont be back. There are plenty of other places in the area to buy drinks!

Fernando helped me special order it and also made some great suggestions for alternatives. Competitive pricing and great selection makes it worth the trip. Friendly staff makes it worth coming back!

My to go rum wasn’t in stock so I grabbed a bottle of Flor de Caña 12. I’m hooked now. It’s far the smoothest rum I’ve tried.

Came in for a quick trip here and it was definitely well worth it. I had been looking for a particular wine that everyone carries every blue Moon and they actually had it in store. The associate was very knowledgeable and friendly. If your in the area I would recommend this store.

This store is my store. Every time I come here I always find what I want and at great prices. The people that work here are always cool and friendly all while maintaining professional standards. Never a disappointing trip to Capital City Wine.

Great selection, great service, great location.This is currently my neighborhood beer/liquor stop, but even if I moved away, Id keep coming here. Staff is friendly as can be, and they pack a lot into a relatively small floorspace.Im a beer guy, and they pretty much always have what Im looking for. Its well-organized and seems to keep getting better. As far as I can tell, wine and liquor are the same. If the staff asks you if you need help, just say yes; they know their stuff and youll be better off for it.

This place was already outstanding before the renovation. Now they are superb. Staff is very friendly, helpful and very efficient. You gotta love that combination. To top it all off, the prices are very reasonable, in some cases, outstanding.

I love the selection. They are not a big store but you would never know it with their great varieties of whiskeys and wine. Their beer selection is pretty good on a daily basis but they do get some very hard to find beers.The staff is incredible, very polite and knowledgeable.

My favorite liquor store in Atlanta on the west-side. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly. they carry a great variety of my go tos: beer, bourbon and even gin. They also have a great selection of mini bottles.

A long standing cornerstone of the community, Capital City Package is an oasis in a desert devoid of package stores. It is a pleasure having an adult beverage store that stocks a wide assortment of libations and a diversity of brands of not only booze and wine also bitters, mixers etc. Moreover, they have a decent humidor with a acceptable cross section of cigars to please the palates of the novice to seasoned cigar enthusiast and at all price points. One should be aware that parking is limited and awkward so getting in and out of the lot can be difficult when traffic is heavy. However, there is usually a police officer to help facilitate entry and egress.

As a non drinker who never knows what to purchase the store staff were great at making recommendations. The prices were also very reasonable. Overall good experience. The only that would have improved this experience would be a better location

I love this store, they always have what Im looking for. The people are really friendly and every time I walk in, they greet me with a smile and ask if I need any help. The selection is really cool too...I recently learned they have liquor infused whipped cream! Really neat!!

This store has a good selection but now is charging 3% for every credit card transaction- not just Amex. I dont see how this will be sustainable for their business because not many people only carry around cash or a debit card.

I reserved a keg on a Wednesday for a party Saturday. Showed up Saturday to pick it up and they knew nothing about it and didnt care one bit. Were not the ones who handle keg reservations. Sorry. Wouldnt offer any help or give me any other options. Keg guy was apparently gone… Flat out HORRIFIC customer service. Luckily Hop City had the exact option I wanted, so Ill be heading there from now on.Join me in never shopping at this terrible store.

Enjoying trying different bourbons I found Caital City to be priced well above other stores tgat I have shopped. If you can hit Greenes or Tower you get prices tgat are a good 10 -15% lower on bourbons. Cant speak to prices on other liquors in comparison.

Recently remodeled and they think theyve got their crap together. BUT THEY SUCK!!!!! New staff but worse selection. Wanted some Flying Dog IPA and I used to buy it there, but they stopped carrying it?!?! New store looks nice but they cant compete with the old guys.

Fantastic selection and competitive pricing, especially for an in-town liquor store. They release rare beers via lottery system at 5pm on Fridays.

Craft beer selection was not impressive. The staff could not answer questions about products and did not even know how to find out if they had a specific item in stock.

Update (5/28/2020): They are now even more rude than previously. If you are expecting any kind of help, do not go here. We tried the online order and pickup, and they were no help. They were rude on the phone and even ruder in person. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have mixed results here. Previously they had everything I needed. That last few times I went they were missing multiple items (Myers dark rum, Baileys, and others).
