After years of taking my car to Toyota for maintenance, I went to Mostly for an oil change and a second opinion on a $1200 estimate (check engine light had been on) from Toyota. Turns out, there was nothing wrong at all. Likely the gas cap, and the other issue that had been previously quoted was nonexistent. I was very impressed by the honesty from everyone there. They could have easily taken advantage of the situation, and they didn’t. Will definitely be taking my car to Mostly from now on for future maintenance/repair. Highly recommend!

Mostly Auto provides excellent service at a very reasonable price, and theyve repeatedly saved me a lot of additional $$$ with their advice.I drive a Civic and an older Toyota Tacoma and I wouldnt take them anywhere else. Highly recommend.

Its great to find honest mechanics. Not much chance I will be going back to the dealership, because they wanted to charge over $600 for a 60,000 mile checkup after completing the oil change. At Mostly Automotive it was $100. Service was also fast and friendly.

First time Ive ever been charged 90 bucks for someone to tell me they cant tell me whats wrong with the car. Thats just sad. Keep the change. (couldnt respond to their response so continued): As far as getting a second opinion on the car, I asked if they could tell me if I needed new struts and they responded by asking me if someone else told me that I did. Why would one need to know someone elses opinion in order to form an opinion of their own? Defeats the point of an unbiased second opinion. The cruise control was what I really scheduled the checkup for. Yes, I was told that it would cost more than the original price to find out what was actually wrong with the car. Just sad I got charged anything more than half for a half...job. Im not upset. This is not an emotional review. I even got a joke for ya. A man walks into a garage and gets way over charged for having his time wasted...no punch line...that is the joke.

Called for a price quote on my trusty 1991 corolla. This car has been like a family friend for 15 years. Was told by the lady that answered sorry cant work on it. I asked why.. ITS TOO OLD, she says. Wow, so you wont work on a simple Toyota car at a place that specializes on Toyotas?? Superb customer service!!

These guys (and girls) are the best ever. So open and honest about work to be done, and whats (truly) necessary for your car, that it sometimes still takes me by surprise since the norm nowadays is to (instead) take you for a ride. What a nice contrast they are to the rest. I cant recommend them enough for your car repairs and opinions.

This is a good repair shop that is affordable and gives honest straight forward advice. They work quickly and have good customer service. Great service, great communications in complicated situations...quality of the repair is excellent. Theyll take the time to check on things near the area of attention to make sure theyre OK too. Also, as important as anything else, the integrity is top-notch. They wont suggest repairs on anything not seriously needed now, but will clearly explain the expected life-span on areas needing attention not far down the road.

Great shop and good people. I have used them for the past 12 years on all of my vehicles and they do a great job. If something is not perfect or to your satisfaction, they will work to get it right. They are honest and trustworthy - something you cannot say about all garages.

Done good by me so far. A little pricey for a oil change compared to other places but I trust them on all their work and thats what really matters. They couldve made money off of me by replacing a part but told me Id be better off getting a new car due to other problems. I appreciate the honesty.

Just moved into area and needed to have my 10 yr old Nissan repaired. I was worried about being able to find a repair shop that I could trust and feel comfort and comfortable with. I was not disappointed with MAR and will not hesitate to take my vehicle(s) back for any needed service. The receptionist was very pleasant (enjoyed the banter), and the problem was diagnosed and repaired in a few hours at a very reasonable price.

Have been putting off having the car looked at for a couple of problems - worries about the cost, inconvenience, etc. Finally gave in and on the strength of two recommendations from separate friends, called to make an appointment. Went back to pick up car and the problem which no one had ever seemed to be able to figure out, was fixed with just the pop of a wire. They were more than understanding and very honest about the problem. I thought it was going to be a major repair but it turned out to be a minor fix, fitting in well with our schedule and finances. Thank you Mostly Automotive! 100% recommend them to relieve your mind of any car worries!

Ive relied on Mostlys many times over the years and Id recommend them to anyone.The customer service is great - they know my name and my car and are always willing to take time to explain whats going on with my car, so I can learn.The repair work has always been thoughtful and well done. They will recommend lower-cost alternatives when possible and are reliable about the repair times and the availability of my car. When they say it will be ready, it will be ready.They also were very helpful with a warranty repair on one of my cars - observing that I should get the repair at the dealership because it should be free.I cant say enough good about this shop!

I was visiting the Asheville area on a golf trip with a bunch of friends from Indiana, and late Thursday night when I arrived at my hotel, my brakes began to make a horrible metal on metal sound. I called six different shops that were close to my hotel only to hear six times that they couldnt help before the weekend. I finally extended my search to downtown Asheville, where I found Mostly Automotive. They said they couldnt promise to fix my car on Friday because of parts availability, but would try if I brought it in at 1:00. I did, and they not only diagnosed my problem quickly, but one of the two very sweet women working at the front desk was kind enough to drive me to a great local restaurant that she recommended for lunch. Knowing that my friends were on their way to play golf, they also told me to go ahead and play, and that they would take my payment over the phone and leave my keys hidden with the car. Everything went off without a hitch. My car was fixed, the price was very fair, and the people were extremely friendly. (Also saw that their company van had a UK sticker on it and discovered that the owner was a KY basketball fan - like me. Bonus!) What could have turned into a terrible experience for me, turned out to be a great one, thanks to the kind folks at Mostly Automotive Repair. I highly recommend them! Rick, GO CATS!

If there was a 10 star option I would give it!!We were on vacation driving into Asheville when a tent pole flew off car in front of us and rammed right into compressor & radiator. We instantly lost a/c and it was 92 degrees outside!I quickly did a google search and based on reviews called Mostly Automotive. The gal who answered the phone was incredibly understanding and told us to come right in, we made it by 5pm closing time. They has car ready to go by 2pm next day...it was incredible!!Our vacation could have been ruined if it were not for their care, I know they had to of done some finagling to get us taken care of so fast.

Mostly Automotive pre-inspected an older model Toyota Rav4 for me. I feel safe to say that individuals have pre-owned cars professionally inspected to determine if they want to purchase them. I did purchase this vehicle based on Mostlys pre-inspection report and IMMEDIATELY after the purchase the car I heard a grinding sound at around 40 MPH. I took the car back to Mostly, they kept it a full day and said there was nothing they could or would do but I needed a new transmission. Long story short....I ultimately ended up taking this vehicle to a local Toyota dealership where they confirmed that the car needed a new transmission but also said that this problem should have been detected during the pre-inspection as its was not a new problem but existing. I informed the owner of the business, lady who sits at the front desk, and she said she would research rebuilt transmissions and call me back with information...that she wanted me to be happy. She never called me back nor would return my subsequent phone call. This company specializes in Toyota, Im sure they were aware that the year, make and model of this Toyota has had these issues so why didnt they specifically check for this? After researching this specific issues online, its a common problem with transmissions. This is why one would take a Toyota to a Toyota specialist as they know the history of re-calls and common problems. Mostly Automotive posts a Code Of Ethics on their website and I find this is a joke and they have no idea what ethics are and clearly dont take responsibility for making mistakes. As a business owner in Asheville, I understand customer service, thought by taking this car to another local established business that it would be fine. My guess is that they just rushed the job, didnt take the time to detect the problem, then wouldnt take responsibility for their mistake. One of the mechanics asked me if I sold him a house and it burnt down after he moved in would I be responsible? Now thats sound logic and really explains everything.....

They seem to know Toyotas and are straight to the point. A bit too harsh at times but I can deal with that. Took my brothers Lexus LX470 to them to find out what was causing the CEL and they checked the truck out for all potential problems and didnt charge me a dime for it. I will be bringing my 2006 rUnner to these guys from here onwards.

I own a 2004 Toyota Prius with 254,000 miles on it, and I could not express my appreciation for this business more. At the beginning of my Graduate program my big battery went out in the Prius. Mostly fixed it, and came in priced below all the other Asheville competitors. The following May I drove my Prius to Devils Tower WY, and gave Mostly a blank check to fix anything wrong with the car up to $1000.00. My bill was a mear $275.00. You do not seem to get this level of honest service anywhere anymore.

I have been a faithful customer for over 30 years from the time ed & mike started up the shop on coxe ave and on to their location on Biltmore ave. I have them do my basic service as well as the timing belt maintenance etc. I have never had to bring back for a repair that wasnt done right. Basic parts are in line with all the other independent shops and somewhat less than the major factory dealer in the area. labor prices are fair compared to what other shops charge. bottom line you get what you pay for. Im comfortable with pricing. my Toyota vehicles are as follows, 72 corolla, 78 corolla, 84 corolla, 94 camry, 04 se camry. again basic repairs, brakes, cv, alignment and most of all reg 5k oil changes. if one doesnt pay attention to their basics, yes you will have to pay for repairs and no one likes an out of pocket repair.

Most obnoxious mechanic Ive ever met, and obviously in the wrong line of work. I made an appointment in person to have a valve cover gasket replaced on my 1989 Toyota Pickup, of which I am the sole owner and it runs like the day I bought it. The guy I made the appointment with was very knowledgable about the vehicle and its engine, which is what I expected, as Mostly claims to be a Toyota specialist. Well, I went in to drop it off this morning, and the other mechanic on duty came out and threw a holy tantrum about having to work on a 1989 vehicle, and said that he was probably going to break other things while replacing the gasket, and that I wouldnt pay and hed be stuck with it. Asked if he would lubricate the parking brake mechanism and he acted like I had some audacity to make such a request of him. I had never met the guy, he hadnt even seen my truck, I couldnt believe it. I took my key back and took my truck elsewhere. This all happened right in front of the owner, who did not apologize, so I presume this is just how they operate. Good luck being an auto mechanic who doesnt work on older vehicles. I hope this place goes out of business, serious D-bags. Go to Toneys or Mike Byer if you need your vehicle fixed in Asheville.

6 months ago i took my car in, telling them i had a check engine light on and the code read air intake problems. I wanted it fixed so it would pass inspection. They take it in, call me later that day and I go to pick it up. The lady at the front desk said they fixed some hoses, but the light would likely come back on because the catalytic converter was also bad. ok. paid the $80. then the mechanic came around and apologized there was nothing they could really do for me. uh? what was the $80 for? oh that was the diagnostic fee to put it on the lift and diagnose your problem. I ALREADY knew my problem. SERIOUSLY!? Auto zone ran the code for free. So then i took it to another mechanic and he FIXED my problem for $40 where these people charged me $80 to tell me exactly what I told them. Mostly. Mostly doesnt fix your car. Go anywhere else.
