Finally I’ve found great store in Anchorage. I’m from Downtown Los Angeles and this store 90% correspondents my expectations. Other stores targeting local population, this store is great for fastidious travelers. Recommend! A+

About a couple of steaks for dinner for me and Friends and the meat was so great! Its a nice small little market with a lot of very good things. Right now they have some really nice peaches and plums and nectarines that are enormous and ripe

This place is slightly cheaper than natural pantry and I would call it pseudo organic. Its not quite Whole Foods quality organic but it is definitely a step up from cars Safeway.I wouldnt go here for meat specifically though if thats what you were into because their selection is low. This is the kind of place I would come for niche coffee or their bakery or their deli which is exceptional. They also have excellent security and I dont recommend stealing.

If in Anchorage, and downtown, and youre looking for a safe, 15-20 minute walk (from city center) to a neighborhood grocer this is your place to visit!Fresh seafood (still in tanks), local wild salmon, upgraded cheeses, chocolate and whatnot with deli, hot foods, fresh produce and bakery. Its quaint, small, neighborhood oriented and has nice outdoor sun deck as well. Highly recommend (walking during warm mos...safe area to and from).

Such a lovely local market. Great seafood selection. Their poke was the bomb. Loved the variety of goods offered, everything is either healthy, artisanal or brands from Europe you rarely see at a mainstream store. The bakery department seemed nice too.

Very unpleasant check out experience. Cashier was extremely rude. I understand the need to get off the clock when its time but theres no need for rudeness and unprofessionalism. Cashier just threw away my receipt without asking if I needed it. I like to keep my receipts to track my purchases. At least they can ask first. Need customer service training. Everything else is perfect.

This store is a major price abuser and takes advantage of being the only game in downtownThey just charged $10.00 for a box of spinach from their salad bar and had cream cheese on sale for $8.79!Are you kidding???Even during Covid they jacked their prices upNot sure who owns this rip-off joint but they need to be behind barsI pray that Carrs opens up a downtown store and puts these thieves out if bysiness

Good Walmart Neighborhood market clone but thats it... I visit family there and go fishing Alaska is a very nice place to visit now and then but wouldnt want to live there unless you love the outdoors but if youre a big city type dude like me its like Vegas way too small with nothing to do. No offense people. I sure you guys hate the lower 48 pardon the pun. :)

5/12 AM. So sad. I live within 1 block of city market and regularly experience rude treatment at checkout. Im not expecting a warm fuzzy experience just common courtesy. We all have bad days I know but...I hope the young, female check out employees day and attitude improves. Again, sad you cant answer a simple product question with an, I dont know. Your angry, dismissive response was unhelpful and just plain mean.

The prices are kinda high...but tbh they match the area. You can always find decent deals if you look around..always check the dates of stuff..had some bad experiences with buy naked fruit smoothies and them being a week or two outdated. The staff is great..says a lot about a place when they can keep the same workers for such a long period of time.

This is an amazing grocery store to visit if you want shop for local products mostly produced in Alaska along with some prized selections from states such as Oregon and Washington AKA the Northern Pacific area of the United States. There are also many organic, raw, and vegan/vegetarian items at New Sagaya City Market. Big coffee shop fan? There is a Kaladis cafe inside with a sitting area large enough for small group meeting while having plenty of tables for those who want to study or work on their laptops. A+

While not as large as the midtown location, this store is still quite good. They have a great deli and warm food counter, very responsive staff and a decent list of options for their size. Produce and fresh seafood looked great as well. Store was clean and not very busy, but even when busy it doesnt seem to effect the service. Appreciate the seating area and outside options in the summer.Lots to offer for its size, and cannot beat the convenience with the location.

The cashiers in the downtown location often give the impression that they’re being held against their will, begrudgingly serving you as they wait out their lifelong prison sentence. I often find myself apologizing to them as I bring my two items to be rung up and can see the reflection of clock going backwards in time in their eyes. Perhaps I will petition their freedom as it seems they are victims of internment, there can be no other explanation. Next time you go to check out at New Sagaya in South Addition make sure to ask the cashier to blink once if they need help or to blink twice if they are heftily judging your purchase of $18 goat cheese and $7 box of Triscuits.

Had a home cooked meal for much less than eating out at a restaurant here and it tasted so much better. Restaurants here are stingy with seafood servings and over cook the seafood unless you are going to a high end restaurant but then you are paying above $60. For $30 we bought pound of red salmon, salad, potatoes and breakfast items. This grocery had everything we needed and amazing seafood selection.

Still an all time place to go, and sometimes JUST to walk into, Best Kaladis in Anchorage, bakery puts out the goodies and always fresh take out. My sandwich from their deli is always the way I like it.Ate here today, 7/8/2020, had my regular order, NEVER had just 2 slices of meat on my WHOLE sandwich. 😐, I think I only had 2oz meat on my whole sandwich, I think the par any place else is four oz on a whole sandwich. Disappointed, but everybody has a bad day, but 2oz on a whole sandwich is not acceptable, I wont sweat though, the girl who did it looks news, Disappointed but I will ALWAYS come back. 😊

Great little market place. This place has a little bit of everything..Located downtown this place primarily caters to two distinct clients, although this is certainly a place you must experience at least once..Primarily a local and downtown clientele there are selection of everyday desires, from shampoo, cleaning supplies and paper plates to groceries, fresh seafood, international food selections and all sorts of drinks..In addition to being located downtown and serving the needs of locals this place is a great place to visit for a bite to eat. Whether to grab and go, or have a seat in their dining deli/coffee table area..For sure this place has whatever that couple or family on holiday/vacation might want. From a sort of mini soaps, meds and shampoo to a deli serving fresh made to order sandwiches served on daily baked breads at the the Laroma Bakery. Which bakes and excellent pizza priced perfectly to go or eat in..Also featuring a hot bar serving a selection of freshly cooked hot meals from typical comfort food to some Chinese dishes, soups and a salad bar..Whatever your desires are this place has probably got it or a few alternatives. This should be on your must check out list whether youre visiting Anchorage, Alaska or if youre a life time resident it is sure to offer even specialty shoppers or lunch time snackers a little something something.
