This mall has had many changes recently and most were for the better. Nice variety of stores with some still going through the change. Definitely worth checking out. They still need to fix the food court.

Whats good is that this is a simple, clean, attractive mall in a decent central location. It is definitely surviving on the popularity of just a handful of stores. Whats bad is that there are still a number of vacancies that give off negative vibes. The dead food court is really sad (assuming the 2020 pandemic killed it). This mall could be great... I hope things take a positive turn.

The mall is looking better all the time. The new improvements are a big plus. REI moving in was a huge boost. They have events there all the time. Local market type activities weekly. They even have craft shows from time to time.

Im here at midtown mall. I was going to go in to do some Christmas shopping, also I wanted to deal with some phone calls (safe place off the road also before shopping) this Parklot society pulls up and watches me. I feel thats rude. I would add a photo but its not letting me. So Im just going to the next store since they are already treating me like a criminal. Sad having to dealing with coved then the stores are pushing costumers away.

Quite, but safe mall. GCI was great!

Whomever was working this day pulled an awesome shot for my usual doppio. People were doing their normal coffee shop things consisting of Mac books, writing, reading etc It was a nice experiance overall.

Unfortunately like most malls many of the stores are gone but at least REI is still there. Mall was clean and I guess they hold a craft show on the weekends.

The Midtown Mall has had a serious overhaul in recent years and has so much to offer. After losing Sears to downsizing and the grocery store as well, the mall quieted quite a bit. But then Nordstrom Rack, Steamdot, Burger-Fi and other niche shops started to fill in empty storefront. When REI and Carr’s Safeway announced projects, it was clear this was a long time commercial area that was going to overcome issues and revitalize itself. An REI like this should not be allowed to exist though...it is so enormous and engaging that it can easily make you forget there are other things to do in life beyond looking at sleeping bags for temperature ratings. With our downtown Nordstrom closed, Nordstrom Rack has become one of the stand out stores for clothes shopping in Anchorage. The deals are great. All of the shops are excellent and worth visiting. While the food court has closed due to COVID, everything else is open. They have also become an early voting location during this election cycle. Can’t think of a better place to wait in line.

Has very limited amount of shopping centers. Prices are competitive compared to other malls

Very clean store, well organized and stocked. Only issue is turning onto Beson Blvd from the parking lot. It can take a while so ut may be better to leave from an exit fsrther west.

Located on the corner of Benson and Denali. Now housing REI, new and expanded. Old Sears Mall location--A staple in Anchorage Alaska since I can remember. It is still the same building just without Sears. Its has many of the same shops and the layout is pretty much the same. I like it because its not so crowded and it has much of what you need, including food court, phone services, restaurants, coffee shops, REI, haircuts shoes etc.

The now host Rei, there is the coolest little watch shop... and a killer guitar store, other than that, this small boast indoor bike racks on the walls at ccx the big entrances, it is slowly getting the cool stores it takes to keep a crowd visiting...

Its okay, surprising people still go nonetheless though were still having a pandemic. Covid-19 sure has changed every thing. Although, Bathroom stalls could be improved. Nasty

You can tell it was recently remodeled so it looks nice & clean. I just wonder how long it will last.

Visited Carrs/Safeway and the didnt have what I wanted but they gave me the smaller size product for the cheaper large size price which was on sale. The large size of 2 liters was on sale for .91 Cents while the 1 liter size was $1 each. But they gave me 6 1 liter size bottles for $2.37. I was happy with that substitution. If they had not done the substitution I would have given them only one star.

Im pretty sure the managers were questioning what to do after Sears left. Luckily, stores like Carrs/Safeway and REI came in along with other changes, and the mall looks like they have life again. Its still early to tell, but it looks like they could turn it around, and I hope they do. Until then, well just have to find out.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it took forever to check out. It was 55 minutes. That was expected with the wonderful sale they were having. Hats off to the staff for their friendly service.

With REI moving in, the mall seems more lively compared to before. It used to be pretty much dead but now it seems like a decent and real mall

I was at Carrs. The lady took time out her own schedule to see that I had a nice thank you vase prepared. She did not have to do that, but her customer service was superb.

Went to the newly opened Carrs store and it was very nice! Looks like no other Carrs store in Anchorage. Very bright and fresh looking!

I like this mall a lot. Sure, its not as big as the 5th avenue mall, but I hate driving all the way downtown and finding parking! Midtown is way easier to park and get to. The mall is clean, well maintained, and bright.

Its back woods Splendor ! There is some type of fish in the lake do to the B-52 Bomber mosquitoes they are jumping for. It looks like bring your own wood which im sure is Recommended

Im glad they are revamping this mall. I seriously thought it was going to be shut down there for a while. Its in such a great location and has a lot of potential for more foot traffic than it gets. However, I do hope they add more variety into their food court during the reconstruct.

I really only go here to go grocery shopping at Carrs anf thats only cause walmart and fred meyers are closed there open til 1 am but quit letting people in around 10 mins before closing.

Im only giving this a four star for now. I havent explored the mall. But the upgrades with Carrs and Guitar Center was much needed to breathe new life into this Mall.

I only went to the REI store so I was not in the mall and I do not know if it is currently open. REI has entrances where you do not have to enter the mall. I can tell you the parking lot is clean and I felt safe there.

Went to Carrs, super clean and very bright! Happy lights! Staff are friendly, well kept and the prices are decent. Very nice store! Would shop there again.

The new Carrs is there and it has the best meat and seafood department of all the grocery stores in Anchorage! Raijhon is the meat and seafood guy there and hes AMAZING!!!

A nice and clean location, but also pretty dead. It seemed like several of the stores could only be accessed by leaving the mall and going around the outside? Theres just not a lot going on here.

I only frequent the one side of the mall with cars and guitar center but its always nice and well-maintained with plenty of parking

Mall has been recently updated and has some new stores that are really nice.

I love this mall. It has different levels and jyst about anything you want. Kids could ice skate while you shop. Some after kids get out of school take them all to the YMCA. The kids can swim or play basketball, work out with weights, whatever they choose while mom soaks in a salt bath. After you are done, all take showers. Then eat from one of the many excellent eateries and you can just about guarantee kids are ready for bed. And dad is happy and mom is relaxed. A win win!

New Carrs is nice. REI is great. Place needs more landscaping. Wheres the trees?

Spent some dollars at the new safeway. Nice place, not as crowded as I would imagine the night before Thanksgiving. Parking seems busy near the store entrance. New foods to offer inside is definitely worth a try. Big on the inside for everything you need.

Its been many years since I have been to the midtown Sears mall. It has greatly improved in looks and the new Carrs is really nice. REI is a great store. It still has a few empty spaces in the building but its pretty nice over all.

Awesome mall. Small compared to other malls but still very nice and friendly shop owners and employees. I visited moonpop popcorn company for lunch and it was great. Great popcorn, lunch, and candy selection!!

Wow the Midtown Mall has changed considerably in the year or more that I have been absent from there REI has taken over the old Cars store and they did a great job. I love the new look. The rest of the mall is getting an update and it looks Great. Looks like Cars store is going back in where part of the old Sears store was. Looks like construction will continue for the next few months. Might all be done buy Mid 19 but unsure about that. There are some great stores there now. Mens clothing, nail shop, a great coffeehouse, great fast food and juice bar. With others as well.

You could pretty much test anything on the wall. I really enjoyed the acoustic room in the back, they even had a used wall if the new prices are too steep.

While this is not a mall I go to just to wander around, it does have some shops/restaurants that I like to go to on occasion (such as SteamDot coffee). It sounds like there are a lot of changes in store at this time, and I am eager to see how these will change the overall vibe of this space.I love the indoor farmers market a couple of times a week. Not only is it open during the winter, but it also encourages me to go look around the mall, which I probably would not do otherwise.

The old Sears mall with a new Cars store. Easy parking. And they have a Guitar Center.

The Carrs is new and nice Guitar Center cool place but if its not in stock you have to pay shipping to get what you want whats up with that

Between Carrs/Safeway closing a couple of years ago, and Sears just recently, the only reason I come here is to eat at the BurgerFi restaurant. There is talk about Carrs reopening at this mall. Id like to see them succeed as its a great location for those of us who live and work in the Midtown Anchorage area. Barnes and Noble is also practically next door. Fred Meyers is just down the street.

A bit quite.. Bummer about the food court. Idk if its under construction or maintenance. Very good food there. Hope it opens back up.

Clean mall with updated cute stores and a year round indoor Saturday Farmers market which is cool.

Yall call it what you want! To me it will ALAWAYS be the Sears Mall. That was my families first Mall experience back in the early 70s, miss some of the stores that used to be there, Sears Mall is in my heart forever, followed by what used to he University Center, and University Cinemas, Sears may be gone but it will ALWAYS be the Sears Mall to me. 🥰

Full of homeless people and REI employees. Was panhandled twice in 3 minutes. We could not exit from one side of the building due to a crazy person stomping back and forth outside the door with a gun. REI is a mess in its new location. Looks like it was arranged by someone with no arranging skills. Backpacks are inexplicably placed EVERYWHERE. One of each size of clothing on the racks. Wont be going back here.

Its a small quiet mall in midtown thats got some excellent stores in a great locale. REI, Nordys Rack, Guitar Center, Carrs, Banking, And great food at Burger Fi...Expensive...But great!

Decent selection of shops to kill some time in, laid- back, relaxed atmosphere.

There are still plenty of stores left in this mall. You can get groceries, pay cell phone and internet bills, grab a bite to eat and several other things, there is even a planet fitness here now and a place to buy guitars.

This is a nice mall and I really love Brow Chica Brow. I just wish there were more shops in the place

This mall has come a long way from a decade ago. Its actually quite nice with good stores and food, not big so you dont end up with a bunch of foot traffic to navigate around.

The Midtown Mall is back to being a great place to visit. The four big anchor stores - REI, Carrs Grocery, Guitar Center and Nordstroms Rack - have revitalized and infused exciting energy in what used to be know as the Sears Mall.There are a lot of great stores and services spread throughout the easily navigable layout. Its a good place to have a more intimate shopping experience compared to the sometimes overwhelming big mall experience.The Midtown Mall has it all: banking, food options, coffee, health and beauty, and of course shopping.

With the adding of many anchor tenant like Carrs Safeway, REI, it looks great from outside but inside are still very empty, I used to go to the food court a lot, but now that the food court is taken out, not much updates on other food options besides burger fi. :)

Shopped Rei. Was looking for a winter quilted skirt for my Granddaughter for birthday. Had some, but not in my Granddaughters size. Shes a large girl.Some stores think all women should shop someplace else if they are oversize XL.

Paid a visit to the new Carrs in the Midtown Mall. Because Carrs is new, everything was nice and neat!

Was a great experience noe that REI is there gives you a whole new reason to go there and there a carrs attached now as well.

JCP is a great store and a huge selection of clothing and housewares! Staffing is thin but they are extremely helpful. You just have to have some patience.

I really like the Guitar Center. I get to try out tons of instruments before I get to decide what to buy.

This mall is finally starting to look like a real place of business now. The shops are filling up. The last 2 weeks of February they always have a ametur photo contest. (its for Fur Ronda.) Anyway nice and clean doesnt look like a homeless shelter anymore.

Quite. Usually has an indoor farmers market type venue set up. Local artists work for sale and display.
