Bread, meat, cheeses, and brownies are very good quality! The woman behind the country work hard and do a great job! The place is clean and has many options, breakfast and lunch. The coffee is standard.

I really like this eatery! Its changed the set up inside since I was last there (at least 1.5 years) but the sandwiches are still tasty. The Skippy is cranberry chicken salad with cucumbers on a croissany is good stuff. If youre looking for a change from the Subway or Jersey Mikes type of subs to something more gourmet this is the spot. Ex: Granny Smith and Brie is on one of this sandwiches...just saying and its tasty too. 😋

I love the Marilyn sandwich and the Blondie brownie.

The Health Freak is my favorite sandwich. Lots of delicious sandwiches options and a better selection of chips, drinks and desserts than any chain restaurant. Love their cheesecake, brownies and blondies. You can dine there or get it to go. Its good to order ahead because they can get busy at lunchtime.

Paid over $12 for two slices of bacon, a slice of cheese, bread and some lettuce and tomatoes. DC prices for Route 1 Alexandria quality food. And on top of all this, I waited 15 minutes for them to make it. Seems a bit ridiculous when there are 4 people behind the counter with only 3 customers in the store. Meanwhile the other two customers were complaining that their online orders were being charged to their credit cards but the cashier claimed there was no order in their system.

We are new to the area & doing our best to shop local! (3/3/21) We enjoyed the Rueben & Mount Vernon (I love the thinly sliced apples since I don’t like lettuce). They fulfilled a special request too - PB toast sandwich for our picky 5 yr old and she ate the whole thing! We called in to order & picked up shortly after. Kudos! We will be back soon!

Customer Service was patient and friendly but the sandwich bread was damp on one side and hard on the other side. Maybe the bread had been frozen and thawed out? Its over priced for whats offered.

Sherwood Gourmet has been a family favorite of ours for years. They have great service and even better sandwiches. Highly recommend to anyone nearby. You can call in your order or place it online.

I would agree with much that has been said. Sandwiches taste pretty good, and although not crazy expensive, cant really stomach paying $9 for some bread, 2 slices of tomatos and one slice of mozzarella. They do skimp a lot on the amount they give. Also didnt appreciate getting charged extra for a topping. There is a sign, but would be nice if they actually mentioned it to you when you ordered.

Today my mom and I planned on bringing sandwiches to my friend, who’s newborn is in the hospital. I sent my friend the link to pick out sandwiches for her and her husband, and planned on delivering them around dinner time. When we got to Sherwood Gourmet, it was about 3:20, and they had just closed. They modified their hours due to covid. I was so disappointed because my friend and her husband had already picked out their orders, and I didn’t want to have to break the news to them while they are busy in the NICU, where their 6 week old daughter is on a ventilator. A gentleman emerged (the owner I presume), taking out the trash, and we asked if they were open. They had closed, but when I told him my story he went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make the sandwiches for my friends. He made them quickly and with a smile and I cannot say thank you enough for your customer service and care. Thank you so much. That small gesture meant the world to me, and to my friends.

The food was great and the service is on point.

Sandwiches and desserts are good. Some are very good. The service is awful. My twelve year old and I have now been in three times on weekday evenings because this is on our way to a weekly meeting. Every time I was made to feel like I was imposing on the two young ladies behind the counter. On one occasion I had to interrupt their conversation to ask about ordering. There was no one else there and Id waited in front of the counter, looking at them in hopes of help. Not once have they even greeted us. Not once have they smiled or seemed at all friendly. I cant imagine a less welcoming welcome if wed walked in with swastikas tattooed on our foreheads.

One of my favorite local sandwich shops. It can get pretty busy but the staff is helpful and friendly. Try their chicken salad if you are looking for a cold sandwich, but if you are looking for a hot one they have tons of options. One of their most unique ones is their Thanksgiving one, which paired with a bag of chips is great for lunch.

Been wanting to stop in for awhile and made time this week. A great selection of sandwiches, salads, chips, sweet treats and drinks ALL well priced with fast, friendly service and great hours! Has a dine in area and a bit of outside seating. We returned again today for to go. This will definitely become one of our regular stops or order for delivery when we are nearby. My wife and I came here for the first time, having recently moved from the west coast. We ordered the Sherwood Reuben and FireHouse. Both were outstanding. We’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the Virginian and It was horrible. A moldy dirt like taste to it. I trashed it and will never go back to this deli again. Thank Goodness for the Newly built McAllisters. Its fresh and wonderful.

Great little gem. Fantastic food. Unique choices on chips and soda. Big selection of desserts. And the sandwiches are to die for. If youre ever anywhere near this place, check it out.

Sherwood Gourmet is such a gem in the midst of an area filled with chain restaurants and fast food. There are so many different sandwiches, and they are all great! The secret sauce on the Mt. Vernon is so good that I wish I could take a bottle of it home to put on all of my sandwiches. There are also a bunch of different drinks that you cant buy at any other store in the area. Great little deli and totally worth a visit!

They have the BEST cheesecake, and just a few days ago I had a chocolate mousse cake that was Delicious. Wish the slices were a bit bigger but it was still definitely worth it. Oh their Ruebins are pretty good too though Id prefer them with rye bread.

The food was great. Got a veggie sandwich and pumpkin pie (crust was dry but flavorful filling).Service was..... Interesting.When I walked in, I wasnt greeted. There werent paper menus. I felt rushed.The boy who made my sandwich complained he had to make it and was unreasonably slow.They were overstaffed but why were all the tables dirty?Id mix the staff, experienced and not. No one looked experienced when I walked in today.It was an overall awkward experience but the food was great.I hope you guys improve and find better staff.Visited on Sunday, April 15th 12:30pm.

Wonderful deli. Great, creative sandwiches and subs. My go-to is the Mt. Vernon, which I get with extra apple slices. But Ive heard from many others that just about everything is great. Nice shop with wine and beer, too.

Great local place for all your sandwich needs, Ive tried at least half, all delicious.

I’ve never understood why people like this place. “Here’s a loaf of bread with apple slices, some turkey, and a slice of cheese. That will be $8.50.” That sandwich probably costs them 75¢ to make.

I live walking distance from here and drove by for years. I love the food and choices. Prices are reasonable and good hours. Kudos!

Spectacular sandwiched and baked snacks

Just ordered from here.. i got a reuben and new england clam chowder. I have to say the sandwich was ok at least it was edible .... but I am absolutely appalled with the soup! The soup had NO CLAMS whatsoever, it was a brownish color, seriously over salted and had a dishwater taste to it. To be honest it seems more like tuna fish and potatoes more than anything else. I dont understand why they tried to pass this off as New England Clam Chowder. I had to throw the whole thing away!!!! Gross!! If they didnt have the ingredients or recipe to make it right why even put it on the menu??? Will I eat there again.. umm NO!

Great sandwitchs and every 2nd and 4th Saturday morning is cars and coffee from 9 to 11 am cool place to bring your cool and have a breakfast sandwich.

I visited this place today recommended by my wife. I absolutely love this place. Its very clean and the people are very nice. The quality is great. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich and it is very tasty. I personally know good cheese steaks because im a chef having my own recipe. I will definetly be returning to try the appetizing sandwiches and such. Im guessing i went before lunch time because it was quiet, but the cashier was really busy with deliveries and orders on the phone. I would definetly recommend this place.

This place has the worst sandwiches, my first time there was a very bad experience, so I gave them a second chance and I ordered a steak and cheese and it was horrible, they never chopped up to meat, all they did is lay the meat in layers, this place is over price, they should be paying me to eat there,

Needs better a/c. I worry about the staff and the food safety when its 80+ degrees inside.
