If I could give a negative I would. Took our car in for repairs to this place. A few other shops even recommended them. Thought the car was in good hands. Nope! Didn’t call and communicate anything to us. Then took longer than they said. They call and say it’s ready. Pick it up to start driving home and check engine light comes on and car has serious misfire issues. The shop knew this and sent it out anyways. No reputable mechanic would ever do that! Took it back and a few days later we call them and they can’t figure it out. So they took the car, messed it up, charged us over $3000 and now just give up. Great service, not! We pick it up again and take it to the dealer. They have the car for two weeks and come back to us with so much data and a write up of all that is wrong and it was 100% Perfections fault. Now this perfect condition beautiful car needs a whole new motor. It disgusts me as a former mechanic, that shops like this still can operate and screw over people and get away with it. I have a ton of details on what they screwed up and it just blows my mind. If you’re getting an oil change only, sure they may do that ok. Outside of that I would avoid this place like the plague.

Buyer beware, this guy is shyster! Bought a vehicle from him last fall. He claimed the engine had been rebuilt. Seemed legit because he owns an auto shop and the vehicle looked to be in good condition. But only a few months later, a massive oil leak developed and I started to experience a rough idle. Took it in to a shop in Santa Fe and was told it needs a valve adjustment among other repairs. The guy up here in Santa Fe said I shouldnt worry, though, because when an engine is rebuilt, there is typically a warranty on the engine and I was well within the mileage and time. I called Jim at Perfection and he said there was no warranty. Oh, thats fine, but what about just standing behind your work?!?!?!? He wouldnt do that either. Basically I bought a lemon from him and hes not willing to fix the problem or even offer me a discount for the repair. I would recommend that you DO NOT do business with this guy or his shop.

He was my only mechanic for 3 yrs and he did great work, until he broke the rear end gears in my car. The car was not broken when i took it to him in fact i drove it to the shop. I just wanted him to swap out the factory gears for a lower gear ratio set. He broke it while trying to install them. I had pictures of where someone had been beating on the gears with something heavy. He ultimately bent a part that made it unrepairable. All he had to do was tell me that he bent it and we would have discussed the options and we could have continued and gotten the car fixed, Instead he gave up on the job. I asked did he need more time, he said he could not figure out why it would not work. Before the job had started Jim told me that he had done thousands of these rear ends and that he could do it in a few hours. He was not able to fix it and even paid to have it towed to Ford, just to get my car out of his shop. He gave up on the job and because of this it ultimately cost me 1,500. He agreed originally to do the work for 300.00 . I sued him in court and the Judge decided in my favor but did not really understand cars nor the extent of the damages caused by Jim. I even had the certified mechanic from Ford to testify and he too confirmed everything previously mentioned. I received only 175.00 in compensation. Jim lied repeatedly under oath . This is my experience with Jim. If he replies to this post with any other story it is not the truth, i left out nothing nor distorted any of the facts.

Update on previous comment. I was referred to a Toyota specialist here in Santa Fe. He let me know that a valve adjustment wasnt going to fix the problem, the cylinder in question was bad and that the motor wasnt rebuilt. He said it looked like a junk yard motor bc he could see the paint they use to mark the engines at the junk yard. I was told by Jim that it was a rebuilt engine. I was LIED to! Now Ive spent money figuring that out and will have to spend a lot more money if I want a car that runs like what I thought I was getting when I went to Perfection Auto Repair in the first place. Please dont waste your valuable time and hard earned money on this con artist.

I took my car in to get an oil change, the owner, Jim, said I needed a new water pump and a new belt. I told him to do the work. I go to pick up my car and it has an incredibly loud whining noise that its never had, Ive owned the car for 9 years. The owner tells me that this is normal and that I should drive the car 500 to 1000 miles to see if the noise would go away and if it didnt go away, Id have to pay another couple hundred dollars or so to have it fixed. After having another mechanic check my car, I was told I need to either get my money back or make this place fix it. I called the owner, Jim, and told him what the other mechanic had said. Jim told me to bring the car back in, in not a very kind way either. So on the day I took my car back to Jim, which was today, 6/19/14, he decides hes not going to fix it and tells my son, tell her to take the car to her buddy there, meaning the other mechanic. So I now had to take my car to the other mechanic and will have to pay for the repairs for whatever Jim screwed up on. I paid almost $500 to Jim and now I have a car making a horrible noise it never has made before. On top of that, one of my sons worked for Jim at Perfection Auto. My son had picked me up and was driving me to where I needed to go, which is what auto shops do. Well, Jim had told me Tuesday that they were not my chauffeur service and Id have to find a way to and from where I needed to go. Well, my son picked me up this morning, as they do at mechanic shops, to take me where I needed to go, something he always does for customers, and on the way to where my son was taking me, Jim texts him and tells him hes fired. Strangely enough, when my son reported to work, Jim told him to take the day off, for no reason. I thought this was very suspicious that he wanted my son to NOT be there on the day I took my car back to him. When my son questioned why he should miss work, Jim texted my son back telling him he was fired and for me to just pick up my car because he was NOT going to fix it. This man is a snake. No mechanic in their right mind would expect someone to just accept a loud whining noise in their car that was never there before and tell you its normal. My son told him to give me my money back and he said he wasnt going to give me my money back or fix the problem. Im going to sue him if I dont get my money back. Stay away from this shop. Obviously this man is a shady mechanic and does shoddy work. He couldnt even look me in the eye when I took my car back in this morning. My father made his living as a mechanic and he would have NEVER treated a customer like this. This owner, Jim, is a slime ball with no moral character or conscience.
