Love shopping here! Always finding great finds for my kiddos. Love I can bring in their old clothes and trade for new. The staff has always been helpful to me. Every time I’m in Lincoln I make a point to shop here.

I went to Once Upon A Child October 18 and this was my second and last time coming. This second time I came I brought clothes to sale and was met with the nastiest attitude at the front counter. I was filling out my paperwork when a white lady walked in and was greeted pleasant hello welcome when I walked in I was glared at like I was the scum of the earth I was not greeted with pleasantries . I was given the same treatment the first time I came this is really discouraging because it is so sad to be treated this way still. If you are African American dont shop or donate here beware of the African American at the front counter.

Shopping is ok. Thats where the good ends. The boys racks are bare and when we brought in a tote of boys clothes to sell, the ladies going through it were picking out things and packing totes for themselves. Everything that they didnt pick out had stains, even the clothes still on the hanger from the store that had never even been out of the bag. When confronted about this the manager went straight to name calling and flipped the tote off the counter almost landing on my 16 month old son. Had to restrain myself heavily. Never shopping here again and i strongly discourage others unless they are in great need. No matter what youre better off selling on Facebook.

Heads up! They are very specific on what size totes to bring when selling your clothes. I don’t see any specific dimensions in their FB page or website. Just letting you know in case you are from out of town.

Honestly I never did like this store. The lady that always helps me I think is the manager and she is just so dang rude. Won’t even look at my things and points out everything that is wrong with my things. Just wish they had better customer service. Do not go there to sell.

I like somewhat shopping at the store but for my first time taking clothes to have them buy was not the best experience ever. Out of a whole tote that was full of clothes some that were name brand and some that weren’t all in good condition. They only took about 5 items out of the tote and told me that everything else had stains on them. If I ever take clothes there again to have them buy I’m going to stay and watch so that can point out the stains to me.

We went to the facility in Lincoln, NE. We took entire laundry basket jam packed full of boys clothes, over 45 articles of clothing and they took 7 pieces of clothes for $19! Their reasoning for not accepting the clothes was dog hair, spider webs, and stains. We had JUST washed all the clothes this morning so spider webs???? And there was not a single shirt with stains, I double triple checked!!While standing there I picked up the 4 pairs of basketball shorts right on top and NONE of them had dog hair or wrinkles. Lmao but one of the sweaters they DID chose had more dog hair then my shorts.When I asked them why they didn’t chose more, their reasoning was wrinkles but yet that wasn’t written on the paper!! I said “so it’s just up to that 1 workers discretion” and the manager said “yeah essentially.”The 7 shirts they chose were on the TOP of the basket. Like they didn’t even go through it!!!! They have like 8 isles of girls clothes and 2 isles of boys clothes!! I am blown away!! This place is a gosh dang joke! I am disgusted with the customer service and with my experience. We will NOT be returning to shop or sell.

The first time I took a tote full of clothes here I got a good amount of $$ back. This last time, they picked three items off the top, and told me the rest were stained. Now that Im going through my tote, most of them are still folded and in the order we had them. Some of the clothes havent even been worn. So I know theyre in good condition.

This place is the biggest joke! Extremely rude staff! They had the audacity to let a gal cut in front of me then to tell me I would have to come back the next day as they close at 5pm. i reminded them i live out of town AND they let the gal cut in front of me. They didnt care. Scummy gals and no class! Do not recommend!

While I understand we are all experiencing a pandemic, to not allow a child who is holding herself to use their restroom is reprehensible. I wish I could give zero stars to this place. Your competition now has my business.

Everyone that works here is super rude and nasty to the customers. I cant believe they have business. I have been in here several times and doesnt matter who is here they are all very rude.

Just got back from another wonderful trip! We love the selection and prices! Great staff that is available to help find what we were looking for but not pushy. Friendly store and awesome sales and discounts! We will definitely be back in for all our baby things!

I really like this place. Its a good place to go to start with little growing kids. You can find good quality clothing for your kids. I shop there frequently. The clothing are marked in isles by sizes but the isles are small they should have a bigger store for the great thing they are doing. They have a buy back program as well. They as well have parking issues where they are at. For handicapped people not very friendly.

The employees are super friendly and hard working. The buying system is very well thought out and efficient. The items they sell are adorable and in great condition!! My kids love the store and the workers are very nice to them. Cant wait to shop again:)

Pretty good selection with good prices. The staff is super friendly. They will also buy back certain items. I shop and sell here quite frequently and will continue to do so as long as I need stuff for my little one.

Good place to find semi-cheap, used childrens clothes, toys and gear. The actual store, however, is PACKED all the time. There isnt enough room to move about at all. They do try to keep things organized, but because its over-stuffed, it still feels disheveled. I only go here if I have a lot of time to water searching through everything to find a couple of things. The staff isnt particularly friendly or helpful either. If the stuff was a lot cheaper, Id feel more compelled to waste so much time and effort to shop here. Most of the time, though, I find it easier to just go to Target (or wherever) and pay for new items instead of moderately-priced used stuff at this store.

Im very pleased with all the clothes Ive purchased for my son! Spend some time digging through everything and you can find cheap name brand clothes. I bought my son a suit coat from Yonkers for $6!

I used to love this store. Upon having our first child it was an absolute necessity to be able to have somewhere to sell and buy new clothes for our daughter. However, this location has gotten increasingly worse. I’ve taken more care into organizing the clothes I sell back to the store, since they will not accept anything with stains, tears, etc.My fiancé was bringing clothes in and the worker was exceptionally rude to him. She also said it’d be 2 weeks until our clothes were examined and ready for sale. Being that it’s the holidays, I tried to be understanding.Then, when we came to pick up our clothes today, we had only accumulated $5.... seems a bit off. So we went back thru the clothes that were returned to us. They did not even examine a large majority of them. I know this because I folded them an extremely specific way so I would be able to tell whether they’d been rifled thru. A few items were refolded like they’d been observed, but again, the majority were not even touched and had the same fold as when I submitted them.I guess from now on I’ll be selling in Facebook groups since this place is astronomically picky, even if the clothing is in good condition. Not to mention the majority of employees are extremely snobby and have a better-than-you attitude. We’ll continue to purchase clothes here, and that’s the only reason this has 2 stars.

This place sucks. They tell you one thing one day over the phone then after you drive from out of town to get there then they tell you different. I had a rain forest baby swing that I wanted to sell so I called and they told me they take them if they made in 2006 or earlier. Since it was made in 2006, the next day, my 2 year old and I made the hour long trip into Lincoln to sell the swing. After getting to the store I was then told sorry that they was not interested and that they only buy swings 2009 or earlier. What happened to those 3 years overnight? What a waste of time and money to come to Lincoln to deal with idiots that seem to not know for sure what they take. Items seem over priced for what they was paying to take them in.

This was my first and last time bringing clothes to sell. What a joke. I had 2 tubs full of nice name brand clothes, Sure some of them had the tags cut off and a slit on the hoody neck but most were nice, and they took like 10 things and paid me $19. That was not worth the time it took to take them, wait in line, come back 6 hours later, wait in line and pick up my full totes. I will go back to selling my items on line.

First time seller to Once Upon a Child after moving from a different state and I still everything packed in a box and the lady was rude to me because of it. On their website it doesnt say they cant tale blankets, socks, and bath towels and on the website it says that the items could come in a basket or box, I appologized for it all and she was still rude....I find this somewhat irony/funny, but the lady was wearing a be kond to everyone shirt.

This is a great place to get gently used clothes for my kids. When they end up growing out of them in 6 months and barely get to wear them, this is the place to go to! Staff is always friendly.

I came from out of town (about 90 miles) and was told I had the wrong sized totes, so check your tote size before you haul your stuff up. Also, dropped off at 2:00 pm and was told this will be ready at 8:00 pm but we close then. Very confusing. So I asked, should I come at 8:00 then? They told me, well, no, because we close then. ??? So why not just say your stuff wont be ready today? And why not specify all this on the website so people dont waste a trip? Very weird and confusing. Not very good customer service at all. Going somewhere else.

Second hand kids clothes, got to really look over what you are buying. Got expensive boots for daughter that looked as if never worn. Got home to see the seem was split as if never sown right at factory. Have had non working zippers, stains I didnt notice, and other flaws. Good store but would like to in good faith be able to see something nice without spending time to inspect. I would asume that they do that when they buy them or hang them but thats my gripe and why they only get 3 stars.

Dont bother rushing across town when you forget to pick up your tote. They lock the doors at least five minutes prior to posted time, and cant be bothered when youre at the door before close. :(

Ever since they’ve gotten new management, their prices on most things are absolutely ridiculous. I was just in there last night. $4.50 for every pair of footie jammies. You can go to the carters store and buy name brand, brand new ones for $6.00! Their prices are outrageous for used things. We used to shop there all the time before they got taken over by new management. Now, you’re better off paying 2-3 extra dollars to get the same thing brand new. I don’t see them being in business much longer. Especially with Facebook marketplace. You guys need to lower your prices. They’re USED clothes for crying out loud.

I used to take clothes to them to sell until about 5 years ago...when they started really ripping people off. They will buy a new shirt from you for $0.25 and resell it for $5.00. Huge ripoff! I also wont buy from them either. I realize they do discount from new prices, however the items are not NEW so they should be a lot less expensive. I absolutely refuse to pay $7 for a pair of 12 month boys pants when I can go buy brand new ones for $3 more. Wont, refuse, will NOT! Ive only experiences 3...yes THREE...experiences with employees that were not rude. Once I asked to use their restroom for my 3 year old and the employee completely ignored me. She looked at me, listened to me and then asked someone else a different question and walked away. WTH!?

Decent clothes. You have to know your prices as some clothing items are overrpriced. Not a real big selection on clothes. Halloween costumes they only offer $2-$5 for. Sometimes employees ignore you when you are waiting in line for 5 minutes when the place isnt busy.

Came to this store to day found some cute clothes for my girls the price was right until I got to my toddler outfits . But better then Goodwill.

Dont know what happened but they dont buy much or pay well for anything anymore and their prices have gone up. Used to be a regular seller and shopper. Now I refuse to go there anymore. Ill just stick to Wal-Mart and Target.

I found the customer service to be excellent. I dropped off some things to be purchased by the store and when I came back and shopped they even helped me carry my purchases out to my car. They were friendly and courteous.

Can find some good deals but they dont give much when selling clothes anymore. I used to get more.

I took in a large tote of my childs clothes, name brand, good condition and they offered my 8 dollars. I went in there a year ago and I got 80... Makes no sense

Not exactly something i would talk about in a store for children or just i dont know on the freaking clock!! Second we brought in nice clothes that were not wripped, stained and were name brand and they did not take it. What they offered for the what they took was a damn joke! Will be taking my things somewhere else! Will not be going back!

I brought in a large tote full of toddler clothing. They only accepted a handful of pieces to buy, citing staining, wear, and other reasons for rejecting the rest of my clothing. The first 3 items I pulled out of the tote when I got home had no stains, no visible wear, and the tags were not even cut out of the clothes so you could tell the size. I have also shopped here before and found clothing for sale with visible holes in the fabric. Very disappointed with every experience I have ever had at this store.

Two stars for the clearance prices. Otherwise the clothes are overly priced. Ive seen stained used pants for 5.50! They are a rip off when it comes to buy back and re-selling. I sold an over the top nice play pen to them and got back 38.00 measly dollars but they turned around and sold it for 200.00. Seriously!! Also I purchased a baby tub from them that was only used about five times by me because a brand new one was given to me. I took the tub back to be sold and they had the nerves to tell me that the tub was way to old!! WOW!! That means that they sold an old tub to me that they shouldnt have accepted in the first place.

Disappointing customer service! I walked in the door sat 7:01pm and the cashier yells from across the room they don’t accept clothing after 7pm. I was not aware of the time restrictions and there was no sign on the door. I drove across town knowing they close at 8 and aware that I may have to wait a little longer to receive a quote back since later in the day.

We bought school clothes for all of our children and we really enjoyed the experience and great prices.

Great place to pick up inexpensive, gently used kids clothes, shoes, toys, books, and DVDs.

I like buying and selling here but they are very inconsistent about that they will take and not take. Sometimes they refuse things for staining and wear that have literally never been worn. Some of the clothing I have bought from them is more worn than anything Ive ever brought in. I also think 5hey overprice the bigger items- such as infant toys, bouncers, swings, strollers.

Pros: This is a great place to find something that is difficult to find elsewhere. For example, last Christmas I had a very specific color of green that I needed my sons shirt to be in order to match his twin sisters dress. I walked in OUAC and found exactly what I was looking for in less than 30 seconds. I would have had to put 10 times the effort to find it elsewhere, if I found it at all. So, if you are looking for something very specific or maybe something out if season or unique, its a good place to check.Now the Cons, and unfortunately there are a few. Ive patronized many consignment shops in a number of cities the last 15 years. I must say, sadly, this is the worst. First, its just too small a space for as much as they have in there. You trip over totes people are bringing in, aisles so narrow that you cant look efficiently if someone else is looking, carts dont fit down the aisles with ease if other carts/people are in the same aisle, and clothing crammed so tightly together that its hard to see.Second, prices. You can find some good deals here on specific items, name brand things (Nike, Chaps, etc). But, if you can buy your childs clothes in the off season (in other words, buy summer clothing in winter and winter clothing in summer) at a retail store, you will be way ahead. I get way better deals buying my kids clothes new at retail stores simply by purchasing in the off season. Way better! Now, when winter rolls around and I realize my son needs another pair of jeans, then yes, OUAC is a place I check out because they tend to be cheaper than a retail store when purchasing in season.Another issue: quality. I am baffled everytime I walk in there and see the quality of products they purchase from people. Yes, there are nice pieces, but theres alot thats not. Many pieces are well worn. I have found several articles of clothing that are stained or have tiny tiny holes. (Inspect each item in a well lighted area before purchasing!) Yet, I can bring in clothing that is not stained or riped and they wont take it. It really makes me scratch my head every time. I wont even look at the shoes there--WAY too worn and totally disorganized (I refuse to comb through huge tubs to find shoes that should be thrown away!). Theres got to be a way to organize the shoes better.The Certified Buyers: Its hit and miss. Theres no consistency. Its the luck of the draw. One buyer might take your stuff and you could give another buyer the same box of stuff and they wont take anything. Its all in the eye of the beholder, which is why I think they end up with nice pieces and then really really worn pieces hanging side by side. They should be more choicy about their buys and stock the small space they have to work with, with really good stuff and stop buying the rest. That would solve two problems: space and quality. And, I absolutely HATE the excuses they give every time for not purchasing my stuff...wear, tear, damage. I do not bring anything like that!! I throw that stuff away! So, I just wave them off as they give me the same ol line everytime. I dont want to hear what isnt true. I wish theyd just say, We have too many Christmas dresses right now and arent buying any more. Dont say my stuff is torn and worn when you have SHELVES of just that hanging all over the store! I agree with what several reviewers have already said. Alot of times, its not worth the effort to go here to sell items. Its a lot of work to haul stuff there and back. Im selling my stuff online and making more money that way without all the headaches. (By the way, I never had complaints about the prices they offer to pay for my items. They could offer me a quarter and if I dont have to haul it home, thats great! They are a business and will have to buy your stuff for less and sell it for more in order to make a profit. I cant blame them for that.)Bottom line: I miss living near a nice childrens consignment. I wish theyd get some competition in the area to motivate them to fix some of the negatives.

Im not sure what they buy. I have a pair of sperrys my child wore once a nike hoodie she wore twice north face jacket a nike jacket all.in great condition no stains my kids are 8 9 10. I have nike pants under armour shirts and cleats no stains no tears they didnt take any of it and this was yesterday. And I was told they were buying for all seasons.
